Eighteen U-15 soccer players (13.3 ± 0.7 years) performed five randomized conditioning activities (CA), with each CA separated by 3–7 days. The five CA were: 1) FIFA11+ at level 1 (F1); 2) FIFA11+ at level 2 (F2); 3) FIFA11+ at level 3 (F3); 4) FIFA11+ at reduced version (FR); and 5) Standard warm-up of the players (Control). The subjective session rating of perceived exertion (session-RPE), countermovement jump (CMJ), 10-m sprint, and 505 agility test were measured 5 min after each CA. CMJ was higher in the FR (29.6 ± 5.5 cm) compared to the F1 (27.7 ± 4.6 cm) (<em>p</em>&lt;0.05). There was no difference between the other comparisons (F2: 28.2 ± 3.6 cm; F3: 28.1 ± 5.0 cm; Control: 28.6 ± 4.9 cm; <em>p</em>&gt;0.05). The sprint performance was higher in the Control (1.937±0.166 s) and FR (1.931±0.123 s) compared to the F1 (2.006±0.113 s) (<em>p</em>&lt;0.05). There was no difference between the other comparisons (F2: 1.970±0.116 s; F3: 1.999±0.117 s) (<em>p</em>&gt;0.05). Agility performance did not differ between conditions (FR: 2.756±0.205 s; F1: 2.7286±0.229 s; F2: 2.832±0.228 s; F3: 2.804±0.209 s; CON: 2.756±0.205 s; <em>p</em>&gt;0.05). Session-RPE was considered hard for all CA, with no significant differences among conditions (<em>p</em>&gt;0.05). The internal training load was higher in the F1, F2, and F3 compared to the FR and CON (<em>p</em>&lt;0.05). The current results suggest performing a standard warm-up or the reduced version of FIFA 11+ to optimize performance in the CMJ and sprint of U-15 soccer players.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100113,"journal":{"name":"Apunts Sports Medicine","volume":"58 219","pages":"Article 100419"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49699861","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Football goalkeepers (GKs) are involved in the game differently when compared to the rest of the players in the team and, therefore, they develop different high-level and high-intensity tactical-technical actions. Therefore, the present work aimed to analyse the different performance indicators of football GKs through a search in the following databases: Web of Science (WOS), Scopus (Elsevier), PubMed (NIH) and, SPORTDiscus (EBSCO), until February 2023. The following keywords were used: \"Football\" or \"Soccer\", \"Goalkeeper\" and \"Performance analysis\". The results show that the main performance indicators are the percentage of avoided goals, the distribution of the ball at the goal kick as well as the number of offensive and defensive actions. Therefore, training sessions should be planned and implemented aimming to improve these skills.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100113,"journal":{"name":"Apunts Sports Medicine","volume":"58 219","pages":"Article 100420"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49699866","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Twenty-nine male soccer players were divided into two groups: HIIT (N: 16, age: 19.6 ± 2.4 years, height: 1.8 ± 0.5 m, weight: 71.5 ± 4.6 kg, and body fat: 7.3 ± 2.6%), who performed a HIIT protocol with progressive intensity and resistance training; SIT (N: 13, age: 23.5 ± 5.1 years, height: 1.8 ± 0.1 m, weight: 74.0 ± 4.5 kg and body fat: 8.8 ± 2.6%) that performed a SIT program combined with body weight circuit training. According to the instructions from World Health Organization of basic protective measures against COVID-19, each session did not exceed 60 min. Aerobic capacity (Yo–Yo IR1) and countermovement jump (CMJ) height were measured before and after a 4-week intervention period. Aerobic variables (maximum oxygen uptake [V̇O<sub>2max</sub>], velocity at V̇O<sub>2max</sub> [vV̇O<sub>2max</sub>] and CMJ significantly increased (<em>p</em>&lt;0.001), while maximum heart rate [HRmax] decreased (<em>p</em>&lt;0.01) following the HIIT intervention program. Conversely, values remained unchanged in the SIT group after the training. Post-evaluation between-group comparisons revealed that V̇O<sub>2max</sub> was significantly higher in HIIT when compared to SIT (<em>p</em>&lt;0.05). Perturbation-based balance training (PBBT) is a type of neuromuscular training that involves the manipulation of mobile support surfaces, using controlled, unpredictable, multidirectional forces, in order to perturb the balance of the trained individual and thus improve the efficiency of muscle contraction patterns and the dynamic stability of the lower extremity joints. The aim of this review is to analyze the efficacy of the PBBT as a neuromuscular re-education method of choice for the recovery of functional capacity in individuals with ACL knee rupture. A systematic search was carried out in PubMed, Cinahl, Cochrane Library, Medline, PEDro Physiotherapy Evidence Database, Scopus, Web of Science and Sport Discus during January 2022. Only randomized clinical trials conducted in humans and published in English or Spanish were considered. The methodological quality was assessed using the PEDro scale and the risk of bias using the Risk-of-Bias tool of The Cochrane.12 studies were included. In 3 of them, the intervention with PBBT took place before ACL reconstruction, in 7 after ACL reconstruction and in 2 the subjects did not undergo surgical intervention. PBBT appears to be effective in the non-surgical recovery, improving joint stability and neuromuscular control. It was also effective as a preoperative treatment in normalizing knee excursion after ACL surgery. In contrast, the evidence does not support its efficacy as the neuromuscular re-education method of choice in the return-to-sport phase in previously operated athletes.</p></div>","PeriodicalId":100113,"journal":{"name":"Apunts Sports Medicine","volume":"58 218","pages":"Article 100411"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49728005","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
