The photocatalytic property was evaluated in the degradation of the methyl orange dye. The photodegradation activity was higher using the hybrid obtained from the cellulose whose hydrolysis was conducted at higher acid concentration, which resulted in smaller fiber diameter, as suggested by scanning electron microscopy. Thermogravimetric analysis and X-ray diffraction confirmed that this hybrid has lower thermal degradation temperature and the size of the cellulose nanocrystals is lower in the more hydrolyzed sample. This allowed the increase of surface area and therefore, the fixation of more nanoparticles of TiO2, which is responsible for the photodegradation activity, observed by the bleaching of a dye solution.","PeriodicalId":9762,"journal":{"name":"Chemistry and Chemical Technology","volume":"71 2 1","pages":"93-101"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82287823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The greatest elongation (108 %) and strength (47.6 MPa) were found to be with a film based on potato starch. The modified starches such as dextrin and tapioca starch retain amorphous of film structure better than others. The films from modified starch contain more crystallization moisture because there is no amylopectin in this starch. The autophagy is working for “Cellular Garbage Disposal and Intracellular Recycling”.  It serves to orchestrate the process of cellular homeostasis. It is achieved through elimination of superfluous or damaged proteins and organelles; through invading microbes; through the provision of substrates for energy generation and through the biosynthesis in stress. The autophagy promotes the cellular health and there by the health of body of animal. The autophagy is critical for development, differentiation and maintenance of working of the cell. It also play key role in the host defense against pathogens. The cancer is a complex process. In cancer cell, the autophagy exerts its influence in multiple ways. The role of autophagy in cancer is context dependent. Chronic tissue damage and cell death can lead to the initiation of cancer. In cancer cell, the autophagy is working as a cytoprotective survival pathway. The autophagy prevents chronic tissue damage and cell death. With this reference, the stimulation or restoration of autophagy may prevent cancer. In practical sense, the cancer cells deserve capability of utilization of autophagy for enhancement of their fitness and ability of survival with altered metabolism. In this reference, strategy of inhibition of autophagy is the need for treatment for cancer.","PeriodicalId":9762,"journal":{"name":"Chemistry and Chemical Technology","volume":"37 1","pages":"41-57"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74071019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present study was performed to evaluate the in vitro antioxidant effect of the methanol, ethyl acetate, hydro alcohol and water extracts of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. by using DPPH method. The ethyl acetate extract exhibited significant inhibition in DPPH free radical formation with IC 50 values of 70.5206. The ethyl acetate extract showed potent activity on DPPH, which is compared to that of ascorbic acid (IC 50 = 36.8582) taken as standard. The lesser IC 50 value indicates larger antioxidant activity. The results of the present comprehensive analysis demonstrated that ethyl acetate extract of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. is a viable source of nature antioxidant and might be exploited for functional foods and nutraceutical applications.","PeriodicalId":9762,"journal":{"name":"Chemistry and Chemical Technology","volume":"2 1","pages":"12-16"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83204785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was established that the structure of the basic hydrogel had a significant impact on the self-organization of the PMAA hydrogel. The mutual activation of hydrogels was investigated in an aqueous medium. Dependencies of swelling coefficient, specific electric conductivity and pH of aqueous solutions were determined. Individual PMAA and P4VP hydrogels showed the erbium ions extraction degree of about 44 % and 17 %, respectively. At the ratios 5:1 (83 % of gPMAA–17 % gP4VP) and 4:2 (67 % gMPAA–33 % gP4VP), 56 % and 53 % of erbium ions were recovered, respectively. After 48 h the PMAA and P4VP hydrogels had the polymer chain binding degree of 70 %.
