It is more common in newborns who are exclusively breastfed or with excessive weight loss. Hypernatremic dehydration (HD) presents severe risks, including cerebral edema and other neurological complications.\u0000A female newborn, 12 days old (birth weight: 2800g), was brought to the Emergency Department due to a 30% decrease in birth weight and reduced urine output. The newborn was solely breastfed every 2 hours, with a good notion of adequate reflexes and tolerance. Physical examination revealed a skeletal appearance, jaundice, sunken eyes and skin turgor. Blood pressure measurement was unsuccessful, while capillary blood glucose was 96g/dL. A saline bolus (10 mL/Kg)was administered. Venous blood gas analysis showed pH 7.39, lactate 4.3 mmol/L, HCO3-21.8 mmol/L, and Na+ 180 mEq/L.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":"16 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140514868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods and results: Digital photographs of neoplastic tissue histological slides were obtained from 224 women with breast cancer. The digitized images were transferred to the Cell Profiler software and treated according to a predetermined algorithm, resulting in a database exported to the Tanagra software for further automated classification of the histological degree of malignancy. The Kappa index of agreement between the medical pathologist and the automated analysis performed in the Tanagra software was 0.91 for the tubular score, 0.55 for the nuclear score, and 0.49 for the mitotic index score.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":"46 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139159377","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

According to Who (1995), quality of life is an individual's perception of their position in life according to the context in which they live and their relationship with expectations, goals, and concerns. Other symptoms, such as arrhythmias, anxiety, and sleep disorders, have been described, but the cause of these sequelae and the reason for them are not known for certain. \u0000Methodology: This is a literaturere view based on the SciELO and PubMed data platforms. However, these guidelines are usually based on tests with breast phantoms with standardizedthicknesses and compositions, often not representative of the patient population profiles at those services. In a prior study, we developed a computational system designed to automatically tracking and managing data extracted from the image acquisition processes of digital mammography and breast tomosynthesis, stored on a DICOM SCP (Service Class Provider) server. This approach enables obtaining technical reports characterizing exposure parameters and tests have shown that the reference levels outlined in international standards for breast composition and radiation dose do not accurately reflect the characteristics of the actual patient population. Thus this study describes data collection and corresponding analysis for the dose tracking process primarily on three digital mammography systems of different radiological services. Extensive image datasets from these systems were obtained using a new application described previously, with a focus on dose profiles generated during exposures. Graphical representations resultingfrom the datasets are presented, along with analysis of skin entrance and mean glandular doses distributions, average kV and mAs applied during the exams together with the target/filter combinations, radiographic density distribution, as well as the age and breast thickness characteristic of the respective population submitted to exposures in each of those mammography services. Additionally, the extent of information and ease of acquisition provided by the tool for performance evaluation of digital mammography services is discussed","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":"27 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139271013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the understanding of these changes has expanded, so too has the range of available filler products in the market. To maximize the effectiveness of hyaluronic acid, it is crucial to have a comprehensive understanding of its rheological properties. The numerous commercially available brands of hyaluronic acid differ in several aspects, such as the purity of their raw materials, methods of manufacturing, concentration of hyaluronic acid, presence and level of cross-linking, and ability to provide volume and withstand degradation. Aiming at the most assertive use of this product, features as viscosity (η), complex modulus (G*), elastic modulus (G\"), tan d, cross-linking, concentration and swelling factor must be addressed, correlating them with their expected clinical effects.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":"70 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139283007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is necessary to study the changing role of nurses and highlight the need for appropriate information technology educational programs to integrate with the ever-increasing pace of technology. Nursing informatics helps improve vital nursing processes, such as documentation, which is a critical aspect of the profession and essential for effective patient care. Before electronic health records, nurses recorded patient information on charts, which could easily be mismanaged. Today, nursing informatics simplifies documentation and automates the transmission of patient data via connected devices to provide access for nurses, physicians, and patients.","PeriodicalId":93101,"journal":{"name":"Global journal of medical research","volume":"168 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-05","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135546983","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
