The early onset of non-cardiogenic edema and subsequent gas-exchange impairment caused by a severe inflammatory process known as cytokine storm is acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). The existing strategy includes mechanical ventilation and glucocorticosteroid. However, they pose problems like diaphragm atrophy and down regulated immune response of the host in the lungs of patients with acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), the nuclear regulatory factor NF-kappaB and TLR-4 is activated, which may contribute to increased expression of immune regulatory cytokines and other pro inflammatory mediators including IL-6 and TNF-alpha. Natural products play a pivotal role as it offers minimal and in some cases no toxicity. Albizia lebbeck is the folk language and is known for its anti-inflammatory properties. Targeting the above-mentioned receptors with bioactives from Albizia lebbeck would down regulate the signaling pathway and its associated mediators in ARDS. Through in- silico study including molecular docking, ADMET and Lipinski analysis, we are trying to narrow down the active phytoconstituent from Albizia lebbeck against ARDS.","PeriodicalId":93074,"journal":{"name":"Annals of reviews and research","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44243694","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The hospital working environment is complex and demanding and can pose significant risks to staff safety WHO [1]. Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) covers staff health, safety and welfare in the workplace. OHS is particularly important in public hospitals because major hazards exist-such as exposure to infections and chemical agents, manual handling of patients and materials, ships, trips, falls and occupational violence. These hazards can lead to Covid-19 noso-comial infections. Covid-19 was confirmed in Zambia on the 18th March,2020 with a total of 202,078 cases,193,370 (97%) recoveries and 3,521 deaths have been recorded as at 13th August, 2021 HMIS [2]. The severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-COVI-2) pandemic has been continuing to take a heavy toll on human life spreading to new communities even as its fire appears to have dwindled somewhat in the earlier epi-centers of the country. However, the disease situation in the country has continued to improve with a further 21% reduction in positivity recorded in the past weeks prior to the first week of August 2021. In addition, daily admissions and deaths have significantly reduced over the month of July,2021 from an average of 150 to 30 and from 55 to 10 respectively HMIS [2]. Methods: This was a survey-based study of ladder faculty members at Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) investigating information on the challenges and adaptations in teaching methods that were made related to the COVID-19 pandemic. It also questioned the preferred types, length, times and content of faculty development programs. Results: The results showed that a majority (n = 31, 75.6%) of the 56 total participants felt the move to remote learning have Some Impact or Major Impact on the effectiveness of their teaching. Some of the major concerns that faculty expressed were ‘Engagement with students’ (n = 30, 41.67%) and ‘Use of technology’ (n = 16, 22.2%). Also, ‘Designing for online learning’, ‘Classroom technology’ and ‘Poll Everywhere’ were the topics that many faculty members responded found Very Interested. The majority (n = 44, 62.8%) of respondents preferred the online format rather than the in-person format in terms of faculty development program offerings. Conclusion : In order to adapt into the new virtual learning environment, robust faculty development programs should support the continuous designing of pedagogical approaches for a dynamic dental curriculum that will continue to challenge the students and engage the faculty.","PeriodicalId":93074,"journal":{"name":"Annals of reviews and research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-07-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43641371","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its pervasive use, however, has harmful implications for living things and the environment. Aside from that, it affects aquatic ecosystems and soil microbial biota, resulting in a loss of soil fertility and, therefore, reduced plant growth and production, all of which has an effect on the food chain. Various techniques have been used to exclude glyphosate from contaminated habitats, but microbial depletion and the use of nitrogen, phosphorus, and plant growth regulators, as well as the use of glyphosate resistant crops, either singly or in combination, are the most environmentally sustainable and cost-effective options. Microbes release basic elements in the soil by their enzymatic processes, and they play an important role in improving plant growth and phytoremediation capacity by lowering the total toxicity of a pollutant to plants. Furthermore, dehydrogenase and urease processes, which are known to be the most critical measures of overall microbial development, are greatly influenced by nitrogen and phosphate fertilizers. In addition, plant growth regulators improve the glyphosate contaminated soil as well. The present review discusses the glyphosate effects and its possible solution in terms of organic and inorganic amendments.","PeriodicalId":93074,"journal":{"name":"Annals of reviews and research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42292770","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

When treating intricate structures of the hand, optimal reconstruction is necessary to preserve the function and aesthetics of the hand, preferably to the level associated with preinjury. The mechanism of scar formation is a process that is targeted by many researchers in an attempt to lessen both clinical and financial burden. Excessive hypertrophic tissue can cause adverse events, such as obstruction of vital structures, tendons and nerves, which can reduce the overall function of the hand and the patient’s quality of life. ActiGraft, an autologous blood clot, provides effective wound healing and reconstruction of soft tissue, whilst mitigating hypertrophic scar tissue. ActiGraft expedited the process of revitalization of the wound by promoting ingrowth of healthy granulation tissue and reduction in excessive scar tissue formation. Here we present a case of ActiGraft treatment utilized weekly to promote soft tissue reconstruction of the hand, as well as modification of the mechanism required for scar tissue accumulation. Blood was withdrawn from the patient, at the point-of-care, to create a blood clot that was applied to the wound area. This treatment exhibited significant promotion of granulation tissue ingrowth, repairing the injured soft tissue and skin deficit. ActiGraft was found to be a cost-effective treatment that provided optimal and effective healing of the deficit related to the trauma of the hand.","PeriodicalId":93074,"journal":{"name":"Annals of reviews and research","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45220932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An analysis published in 2013 showed that the incidence in women of reproductive age, within a racially mixed population, is 4.7-6.2 cases per 100,000 persons [1]. In pregnant women, the disease occurs in 0.5-1.4%, and in 80% it is due to adenoma of the parathyroid glands [2]. When untreated, PHPT can lead to maternal complications such as nephrolithiasis, pancreatitis, and eclampsia, and fetal complications such as low birth weight and neonatal seizure [3-6]. Adequate control of patients who become pregnant with hyperparathyroidism can be a challenge, depending on their clinical symptoms and the laboratory and imaging evaluation. According to the trimester of pregnancy and severity of the disease, the treatment may be either clinical or surgical. The authors present a case of a patient with a pre-pregnancy diagnosis, and a worsening of symptoms during pregnancy; she was referred for surgery due to failure of clinical treatment to keep the disease under control.
