This paper focuses on how insights from Behavioral Economics can be drawn and affect human behavior in order to reduce pollution and relieve environmental problems. This research involves several interviews with government officials involving the preservation of energy and water, managers of environment-related corporations, and leaders of non-government organizations that are trying to reduce pollution and save the environment. Reviewing the existing measures taken by governments, this paper analyzes different points of views and approaches and gives several practical suggestions on reducing pollution in the Behavioral Economics point of view, which can be referred to by legislations and other organizations and helps eco-friendly policies to be more efficient and accepted. This paper also evaluates different measures that could be taken and the costs and benefits of different alternatives, bringing a clearer understanding of the impacts of many possible actions that can be both vital and beneficial.","PeriodicalId":91573,"journal":{"name":"Low carbon economy","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-06-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49620360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to understand the spatial and temporal evolution pattern of the green growth rate of manufacturing industries in China, and provide a basis for the scientific formulation of green sustainable development policies for manufacturing, this paper selects the input-output data of manufacturing in China from 2006 to 2015, and uses the SBM model to measure the green growth rate of manufacturing in each province. Based on this, the spatial and temporal evolution pattern of China’s manufacturing green growth rate is studied by means of coefficient of variation, nuclear density estimation and exploratory spatial data analysis (ESDA). The results show that: first, China’s manufacturing green growth rate shows an overall growth trend, and the overall difference has dropped significantly. Second, the global spatial correlation of the green growth rate of the manufacturing industry is weakened, and the current situation of HH agglomeration and LL agglomeration differentiation is formed in the local space. Accordingly, the policy implications of this paper include: adhering to the green sustainable development concept of manufacturing, guiding and encouraging enterprises to introduce clean production technologies, increasing R & D investment and upgrading manufacturing equipment; establishing provincial policy linkage mechanisms to improve policy mix, thereby promoting rational innovation factors flow and strengthening regional collaborative governance.","PeriodicalId":91573,"journal":{"name":"Low carbon economy","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"66124943","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The solar energy project or the new Saudi oil made by the crown prince Mohammad bin Salman Al Saud was the focus of the current study. We designed the questionnaire with three categories to assess citizens of Saudi Arabia awareness about solar energy represented by photovoltaic system. The responses collected electronically from 424 respondents ranged between 18 - 41 years old to examine their awareness and acceptance of the solar system. The results showed a positive tendency of solar panel installment and use instead of electricity as source of energy. The respondents’ confidence of photovoltaic use ability to reduce electricity bills was positive. Moreover, the Saudi public awareness and approval of electricity bills regulation were in agreement with the government policy. Around 30% of respondents thought that solar energy is the sole source of energy where they resident. While 75% of respondents thought, they might get greater benefit from solar energy in comparison of the other renewable resources as wind and earth energy. The study emphasized the great awareness of Saudi public views analogues with the global trend and energy shift. The Photovoltaic (PV) system will be the vital investment in Saudi Arabia near future with great approval of public and government system.","PeriodicalId":91573,"journal":{"name":"Low carbon economy","volume":"09 1","pages":"101-108"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44864145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The results show that: 1) there are obvious cyclical price fluctuations in the EU carbon trading market, with the longest cycle being 33 months and the shortest 5.7; 2) researches on the factors that affect the cyclical price fluctuations of carbon emission rights manifest that power prices (POWER) exert the greatest implication on the prices of carbon emission rights, followed by coal prices (COAL). For every 1% change in POWER, the price of carbon emission rights changes 10.95% towards the same direction. For every 1% change in COAL, the price of carbon emissions changes 9.28% towards the opposite; 3) research based on variance decomposition demonstrates that electricity prices contribute the most to the changes of the price of carbon emissions, and the variance contribution rate is 13% at a lag cycle of 30 days.","PeriodicalId":91573,"journal":{"name":"Low carbon economy","volume":"09 1","pages":"81-100"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-12-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43597146","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
