The objective of this paper is to show the amount of crude oil that has been spilled either through operational activities or by poor maintenance of equipment owned by the organizations and perception of the individuals and communities affected. Findings of the study indicate strategies that the multinational companies (MNCs) and the government may use to prevent disharmony and distrust between themselves and host communities. It also showedthe importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR)in not only improving the brand name but also giving back to the environment where they operate. Finally, the paper concludes by discussing the limitations and recommendations of the research and how they may be addressed with further research.","PeriodicalId":91049,"journal":{"name":"American international journal of contemporary research","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74896724","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The developers of the Recovery Knowledge Inventory found good-to-poor reliability statistics on the original four-factor model. This study reassessed the psychometric properties of the Recovery Knowledge Inventory using exploratory factor analysis to find a factor structure that was a good fit for the model. Thus, a confirmatory factor analysis was used to verify the exact structure of the relationship among the factor structures in the model. Results indicated identified a single factor structure consisting of ten items, which reflected the process of recovery. The factor loadings, however, did not support more than one factor. The original developers of the Recovery Knowledge Inventory recognized the limitations of the instrument, which was originally comprised of four-factor structure, and asked for further development of the measure. Therefore, this study endeavored to address the psychometric properties of the Recovery Knowledge Inventory and identifies a factor structure that better defines the recovery orientation of mental health staff and practitioners. As a result, it adds to the limited literature of measures that evaluate staff recovery orientation.","PeriodicalId":91049,"journal":{"name":"American international journal of contemporary research","volume":"100 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74424257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study was conducted on a sample of (50). A measure was developed for administrative workload and its relationship with psychological pressure. The most important results were that the level of psychological pressure among coaches of both genders in some fitness centers in Amman was high and that the administrative workload has a strong correlation relationship with psychological pressure among the sample members. The most important recommendation were the need to reduce administrative workload of coaches of both genders as well as and the need to provide a suitable work environment in order to reduce that psychological pressure.","PeriodicalId":91049,"journal":{"name":"American international journal of contemporary research","volume":"140 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79980513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many of these studies have been done in the public and private sectors, but very little has been done specifically on teacher performance appraisal and its influence on motivation of teachers in public secondary Schools in Gemsub county. The aim of the study was to establish the influence of performance appraisal on motivation of public secondary school teachers in Gem – Sub-county. Descriptive survey method was used. The target population for this study was446 teachers from public secondary schools in Gem SubCounty. Random sampling technique was used to select the sample of 103. Structured questionnaires were used to collect primary data. Regression analysis was used to determine the influence of teacher performance appraisal on motivation of teachers in public secondary schools in Gem Sub-county. The findings of the study showed that fairness in performance appraisal, performance appraisal feedback, performance rewards and performance goal setting had a positive and significant effect on teacher motivation in Gem sub-county. The study concludes that performance appraisal enhances teacher motivation. This study recommends that the government of Kenya though teachers service commission should continue employing performance appraisal mechanisms. Additionally, there are some human aspects of performance appraisal such as integrity and ethical values that enhances trust in appraisal process. This study therefore recommends that the government should adopt appraisal processes that incorporate integrity and ethical values that will ensure continuous trust in the appraisal process, adopt effective reward mechanisms and effective feedback policies. The study limited itself to teachers in public secondary schools. The researcher therefore recommends further research by academicians on teachers in other schools such as public primary, private primary and secondary schools; use other variable including organization commitment and job satisfaction. Moreover, more studies to be carried out to bring these to the fore since the subject of teacher motivation is important not only to the government but other stakeholders too.","PeriodicalId":91049,"journal":{"name":"American international journal of contemporary research","volume":"91 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91048350","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was carried out during the 2016-2017 school year using semi-structured interviews. The sample was made up of 20 teachers from public primary schools in Patras. The most significant findings of the research revealed that the teachers’ lived experiences of the consequences of the economic crisis in their everyday reality were defined by the cut in their salary, the reduction in their buying power and the creation of economic and social problems and difficulties within their families. Moreover, it emerged that the economic crisis did not affect their educational-pedagogical work in comparison with the pre-crisis period.","PeriodicalId":91049,"journal":{"name":"American international journal of contemporary research","volume":"4 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76948396","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Further, preliminary phytochemical study was conducted in an attempt to identify and isolate the phytochemicals that could possibly be responsible for the observed bioactivity of the ball moss chloroform extract. As a result, two dicinnamates were isolated; 1,3-di-O-Cinnamoyl-glycerol (<b>1</b>) and (E)-3-(cinnamoyloxy)-2-hydroxypropyl 3-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)acrylate (<b>2</b>) and we report for the first time isolation of compound <b>2</b>.
