The subjects were three older adults with mild Neurocognitive Disorder. The music therapy program consisted of 7 sessions with song recall, positive emotional experiences and expressions, and creating lyrics through positive self-expression activities. Geriatric Depression Scale(GDS) was conducted before, after, and upon completion of the session. Moreover, based on the recorded conversation and recalled memories, the process of emotional changes and identified future psychological resources and their meanings were analyzed. The findings are as follows. First, the participants continuously expressed positive emotions such as joy, appreciation, and confidence unlike the previous state of depression. Second, the participants recalled in detail by linking the songs with meaningful memories that provided them comfort and were able to identify, discovering the psychological support resources. Third, it was also confirmed that musical products with positive lyrics created by embracing the present self were also used as positive psychological resources. This study suggests that the positive emotions experienced in song recall can be used as a future-oriented psychological resource.

For this purpose, an online survey (under Corona 19 Pendemic Situation) was conducted from July 18 to August 20, 2021 for seniors in their 50s, 60s and 70s, and finally 412 data were used for analysis. The collected data were analyzed by SPSS for Win 27.0 and the mediating effect was analyzed by hierarchical regression analysis. The main results of the study are as follows. First, it was confirmed that senior's lifestyle had a positive effect on health promotion behavior. Second, health control behavior had a positive effect on health promotion behavior. Third, it was confirmed that the mediating effect of internal and other dependent health control behavior was significant in the relationship between lifestyle and health promotion behavior. Fourth, it was confirmed that the mediating effect of accidental health control behavior was not significant in the relationship between lifestyle and health promotion behavior. Based on this, this study suggested the necessity of changing into internal and other dependent health control behaviors in order to maintain health when the health control behaviors of accidental tendencies are high. In this study, the degree of internal and other dependent health control behaviors and the degree of tendency of accidental health control behaviors were diagnosed and educated.

Referring to previous studies and the theoretical framework by Berkman et al.(2000), the research model investigated the relationship between depression and micro, mezzo, and macro levels of social relation factors. As a result, 15% of the study participants reported depression. Social support, social activities(micro), and contact frequency with friends measured by network structure and characteristics(mezzo) was significantly associated with depression. \u0000As a result of sub-analysis, social relation factors were not associated with depression in the non-participating group. Whereas, recognized social support(micro) decreased depression in both the discontinued and sustained group. Also, in the discontinued group, contact frequency with friends and level of community awareness(macro) were the protector factors of depression. Our results suggest the need for implementation of tailored health and welfare programs considering the characteristics of social networks, and provide evidence for multidimensional approaches to promote social relations and mental health of community dwelling elderly during the pandemic.

For this, the statements of twenty middle-aged and older adults aged 55 and above about their daily use of digital devices were qualitatively analyzed based on Creswell’s data analysis spiral. Applying the systematic process for coding data, the participants were divided into three groups; the ‘following’ group that diligently follows the changes for coexistence with the younger generation, the ‘lagging’ group that was reluctant to follow these changes due to the lack of meaning or necessity of using digital technology, and the ‘pushed’ group that had no choice but to be pushed by social currents to survive. The semantic units derived from each group were classified based on the micro-environment, awareness of the macro-environment, attitudes toward digital technology acceptance, and digital technology acceptance behaviors, through the categorization process. Based on the contents of the meaning of various sub-themes of each group, this study presented detailed discussions and suggestions for each group. This study is meaningful in empirically exploring the reality of digital technology acceptance experienced in daily life through the voice of middle-aged and older adults in the middle of ‘the digital wave’. Also, the findings from this study suggest more effective and customized intervention plans to minimize social exclusion and inequality of middle-aged and older adults living in the digital age.

More specifically, Wel-Tech based community care services the current research suggests focus on improving physical functions, cognitive functions, and psychological stability for older people. To evaluate effectiveness of services, the non-equivalent control group design with pretest-posttest was used, and two experimental groups and one control group was assigned based on service contents. The differences between the experimental group 1 (n=9) and 2 (n=9) were based on whether participants receive Wel-Tech programs or not, and those between the experimental group and the control group (n=19) were based on whether participants receive community care services or not. Older people assigned to the experimental groups participated in community care service programs for three months and all participants responded to survey questions before and after the program. Findings indicated that participants in the experimental group 1 are more likely than the experimental group 2 and the control group to show improved depression level, memory, and cognitive functions. Participants in the experimental group 1 also showed better life satisfaction and maintained physical functions while the experimental group 2 and the control group deteriorated. This study is meaningful in that the application of Wel-Tech in the community care model can maximize the effectiveness of service programs and findings suggest new directions to traditional elderly welfare services taking into account the changing times.

A random effect regression analysis was conducted using a sample of 8,672 individuals aged 45 or older from the 2006-2020 Korean Longitudinal Study of Aging Panel. The results are twofold. \u0000First, the depression following a spousal bereavement deepened over time for both men and women, but women showed more rapid changes in their trajectories compared to men. Second, the depressive symptoms increased even before the death of their spouses only for women, and this pre-widow effect can account for the gender differences in long-term depression. The results suggest that the stress caused by spousal bereavements may partially be socially constructed.

A survey of 875 older adults aged 65 and over who utilized day-care centers and welfare centers in South Korea was undertaken for this aim. Latent class analysis, multinomial logistic regression analysis, and multiple regression analysis were performed on the collected data. The following are the major findings: First, multidimensional activity type, self-development-oriented type, social contribution-oriented type, and passive activity type were derived as the types of meaningful social activity for the aged. Second, demographic and social characteristics, such as gender, age, and education, were identified as influential factors for each type. Finally, when considering the impact of meaningful social activity type on meaning in life, passive and self-development-oriented activity type had lower m ean ing in life than multidimensional activity type. On the other hand, the impacts of the multidimensional activity type and the social contribution-oriented type on meaning in life were not significantly different. Based on these findings, this study suggests practical and policy interventions to promote older individuals' engagement in social activities and improve their meaning in life. \u0000

Data were collected by conducting one-on-one interviews with nine research participants. Also, the collected data were understood in depth based on Medard Boss’ Daseinsanalytic approach (1963). As a result, 17 categories and 45 subcategories related to the research participants’ death perceptions were revealed. These were structured based on five concepts of various existentialias, including historicity, co-existence, fundamental attunement mood, corporeality, and essential meaning. In addition, by deriving the main idea from each existentialias, the Daseinsanalysis existentialias structure diagram of death experience was suggested. In other words, the death perceptions of participants were revealed with five main categories, including ‘Get rid of one's obsession’, ‘Wearing new clothes of life’, ‘Concerns for those left behind’, ‘Renewal of one's body’, and ‘Greeting to death’.
