This paper will discuss logical approaches to the nanoscale vehicle and entity design and surface engineering for site-specific drug delivery and medical imaging following parenteral administration. Nanomaterials help with targeted delivery, prolonged administration, and improved pharmacokinetics profiles, as well as medication diffusion into numerous organs by overcoming barriers such as the blood-brain barrier. Furthermore, these nanoparticles have a higher differential uptake efficiency in target cells (or tissue) compared to normal cells (or tissue) by preventing them from prematurely interacting with the biological environment, improving permeation and retention in disease tissues, and improving cellular uptake, resulting in lower toxicity. In this review, we discuss the most often utilized nanoparticles for increasing medication bioavailability.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy. Technological advancements have aided in the delivery of high-quality, on-time, acceptable, and cheap healthcare. A new generation of nanostructures has emerged as a result of advances in nanoscience. Each one has its own set of characteristics that account for its amazing applicability. Nanotechnology has had a continual impact on healthcare since its birth and has had a significant impact on its evolution, contributing to better outcomes. Nanotechnology's application in healthcare is pushing the life sciences sector to new heights. Nanotechnology has the potential to improve many parts of medical care, including diagnostics, disease monitoring, surgical equipment, regenerative medicine, vaccine development, and medication delivery, thanks to its capacity to alter matter at the atomic level. Advanced research tools that can be used for drug discovery are also opening doors to better treatment options for various diseases. Nanotechnology has made strides toward omnipresence over the previous two decades, and this trend has been hastened by substantial studies in several healthcare industries. Nanomedicine is the application of nanotechnology and its associated nanocarriers/nanosystems to medicine, a field that has yielded several improvements in illness prevention, diagnosis, and therapy. In comparison to traditional nanosystems, some nanosystems have been discovered to be better prospects for theragnostic applications. This review paper will discuss medically significant nanosystems, as well as their applications and limits in fields like gene therapy, targeted medication delivery, and cancer and genetic disease treatment.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy. The use of chemicals obtained from different sources has been increased significantly. These chemicals utilized for the preparation of the cosmetic applied to the human body for different purposes like cleansing, beautifying, etc, have toxic effects on the body. These may also lead to serious health issues. To combat this expulsive issue of toxicity, various toxicity studies are performed. With the help of toxicity study on cosmetic products, the biological information required for the estimation of toxic adverse effects of the cosmetics produced after human exposure can be obtained. Altogether, the current mini-review gives a descriptive note on the need and different approaches for toxicity studies of cosmetic products.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy. Cholesterol levels in the blood may have an impact on cell migration, as migrating cells demonstrate a need for cholesterol in order to synthesize additional cell membranes. Statins are a popular drug used for lowering blood cholesterol by competitive inhibition of HMG CoA reductase, a pivotal step in the cholesterol synthesis pathway. In this study, we examined the effects of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) and statin treatment on fibroblasts in vitro. A cholesterol ELISA was utilized to examine cholesterol levels in cultured fibroblasts following treatment with pitavastatin or LDL. A scratch-test assay was performed to examine fibroblast migration following treatment in addition to the MTT cell proliferation assay. Western blot analysis was used to examine the cholesterol signalling protein SREBP-2 and LDLr expression in treated cells. LDL treatment enhanced cell proliferation and migration, while both were inhibited by pitavastatin. Pitavastatin increased both SREBP-2 and LDLr expression in treated cells compared to LDL and vehicle control treatments. These results indicate pitavastatin inhibits cell migration and the cellular response is to increase cholesterol levels to make up for the inhibition of cholesterol synthesis though the mevalonate pathway. This could have significant effects on cell migration and wound healing in vivo for patients with inhibited wound healing responses on statin therapy.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy. Throughout history, many different cultures have recognized the potential use of garlic for the prevention and treatment of different diseases. Garlic is a common bulb vegetable or spice that is used as an herb and to flavor food. The plant contains biologically active components that contribute to its pharmacological properties. The medicinal effects of garlic were known for 5,000 years. Garlic is recommended as a nutritive element in the treatment of various health problems and the prolongation of human life. The chemical constituents of garlic have also been investigated for the treatment of aging, Alzheimer’s disease, anti-fungal/bacterial/viral/ Protozoans, atherosclerosis, blood pressure, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, neuro/ nephroprotection, osteoporosis, stress, hyperlipidemia, and, wound healing and highly praised by several authors. Therefore, this paper is reviewed to inspire and impress young researchers about the medicinal values of garlic.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy. Nanotechnology, or the science of the very small, has immense potential in healthcare, from more effective drug delivery to more rapid and sensitive illness diagnosis. Traditional cancer treatments run the risk of harming healthy tissues while attempting to destroy malignant cells. By controlling medications to selectively target tumor cells, nanotechnology ameliorate chemotherapy and decreases its side effects. The US Food and Drug Administration has already approved the first generation of cancer treatments delivered by nanoparticles (FDA). The application of nanotechnology to cancer detection and medicine delivery has received a lot of attention. It can detect the chemical which relates to cancer quickly and sensitively, allowing scientists to detect molecular changes in a small fraction of cells. Nanotechnology has the potential or we can say it has an innovative approach to develop effective medicinal treatments. Cancer detection, treatment, drug administration, imaging and diagnostic techniques, and immunotherapy will all be discussed in this review paper.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy. It is primarily used for the treatment due to its numerous pharmacological properties such as analgesic, anti–hyperglycaemic, anti-ulcer, and anti-inflammatory. It is also used to cure gastro-intestinal issues, obstetric issues, eye problems, skin wounds, and some instances of burns. Calendula oil is still being used therapeutically as an anti-cancer agent and a tissue repair cure. Calendula extracts have antiviral and anti-mutagenic activities in-vitro, according to plant pharmacological studies. Calendula in suspension or liquid form is being used topically in herbal remedies to treat skin conditions like acne, reduce swelling, regulate bleeding, and soothe irritated tissue. Internal use of an admixture or tincture of the flower petals is effective for the treatment of yeast infections and indigestion. Calendula officinalis infusion can also be used to cure insect bites, eye inflammatory disorders, boils and carbuncles, varicosities, dermatitis, and as a rinse for oral sores or tooth pain. Phytochemical screening has revealed the existence of several groups of compounds, the most important of which are triterpenoids, flavonoids, coumarins, quinones, volatile oil, carotenoids, and amino acids. This review investigated the sensory attributes, in-vitro, and in-vivo pharmacological properties, as well as the explanation, agricultural production, and active compounds of Calendula officinalis, in terms of enhancing the current knowledge on this plant and illustrate its multiactivity characteristics as a therapeutic plant.","PeriodicalId":90302,"journal":{"name":"Progress in nuclear energy.
