A mixed method design (parallel convergent design) was employed in measuring the correlational levels among the study variables. From the qualitative data, 56.5% of the respondents indicated that forgiveness improved the quality of their marriage while the quantitative analysis established that the level of forgiveness was low (0.917>p=0.05). The calculated significance level of forgiveness was 0.917>p=0.05 which meant acceptance of the null hypothesis that indicated no significant relationship with marital quality. Additionally, regression analysis showed that the strength of relationship between independent variable (forgiveness) and dependent (Marital quality) is low and weak. This study concludes that the levels of forgiveness was low and insignificantly influenced quality of marriage among married individuals in the Archdiocese of Nairobi.","PeriodicalId":89992,"journal":{"name":"Journal of psychology & psychotherapy","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69977590","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The fourth one is a left-over category: Adisruptive behavior disorder not otherwise specified. We are thus left with the following three: 1) Attention-deficit/hyperactivity disorder. 2) Conduct disorder. 3) Oppositional defiant disorder. I am struck by the fact that an enumeration of the diagnostic features of ADHD just as those of conducts disorder and of oppositional defiant disorder contain many items related to not following rules. I will concentrate on this one feature of these three disorders. I will ask if there could be any objective reasons why the children affected by these disorders are compelled or encouraged to avoid or to oppose rules. Another way of approaching the problem is to ask if there are specific difficulties encountered in following rules. A more positive way of approaching the problem is to ask if following rules could be made easier or made more meaningful. If one could present an answer to one or all of the questions raised, then it would be possible to formulate helpful approaches to be used by adults having to deal with children affected by those disorders. These helpful approaches could then be used by therapeutic professionals, by parents and by educators.","PeriodicalId":89992,"journal":{"name":"Journal of psychology & psychotherapy","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69977521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The initial observation of superior memory for words studied under a semantic orienting task instead of a perceptual orienting task elicited a theoretical debate about the underlying mechanisms of this effect. The main aim of this study was to explore the results of LoP on two distinct components of recollection memory: context recollection, and target recollection—processes recently differentiated in dual-recollection theory. The considerable research has been dedicated to understanding the mechanisms underlying two highly consistent empirical findings: the quantity of processing (LoP) effect, and thus the image superiority effect. The former is an observation that semantically encoded items are better remembered than perceptually encoded items, whereas the latter shows those pictures are generally easier to recollect than words. The aim of this paper is to analyse the LoP effect for words and pictures from a comparatively new theoretical perspective of the dualrecollection theory","PeriodicalId":89992,"journal":{"name":"Journal of psychology & psychotherapy","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-1"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69977556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It can be broadly separated into descriptive and explanatory. Descriptive psychopathology involves categorizing, defining and understanding symptoms as reported by people and observed through their behavior which is then assessed according to a social norm. Explanatory psychopathology looks to find explanations for certain kinds of symptoms according to theoretical models such as psychodynamics, cognitive behavioral therapy or through understanding how they have been constructed by drawing upon Constructivist Grounded Theory or Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis. A practitioner in a clinical or academic field is referred to as a psychopathologist.","PeriodicalId":89992,"journal":{"name":"Journal of psychology & psychotherapy","volume":"53 1","pages":"1-2"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69977696","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
