Twenty one factors corresponding to SWOT are identified through literature review and expert opinion. The pair-wise comparisons used in the analytical hierarchy process (AHP) help to analyse the situation more precisely than the standard SWOT analysis. The most crucial factors of SWOT are identified through the hybrid SWOT-AHP method. Initially, the ranking of each SWOT group is identified. The result obtained for each of the parameters of SWOT is 42%, 12%, 29% and 17%, respectively. This hybrid SWOT-AHP method aids in determining the relative weights of SWOT. 'Strength' emerges as the most important group and 'medical doctors of international fame and repute' of strength group emerges as the most important factor. The identified factors of SWOT groups aid in developing appropriate strategies for the medical tourism sector of Kerala.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"256"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44870346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The choice of important variables along with the criteria gives rise to the immense reliance of the researchers on quantitative data. The flexibility of choosing between scales for decision making, give rise to a new era of translation of scales. It also aids the researcher to reduce their efforts put in the data collection process. It needs more expertise to select the appropriate tool and scales for measuring the variables and their impact. For this purpose this piece of work is an attempt to convert Saaty's 9 point scale used for analytical hierarchy process (AHP) to a generalised Likert scale for ranking. Analytical hierarchy process (AHP) is an appropriate multicriteria decision making model, which suits the prioritising of variables for decision making process. But AHP is a much complex technique and involves the high computational ability. This research article attempts to reduce the computational ability, and adopts a novel model known as a Likert weight measurement method (LWMM), this lightweight model is widely accepted. In psychometric feedback LWMM is universally established scaling technique and in this case has been used to prioritise environmental conscious attributes and activities for improving brand equity.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"242"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44517856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Successful water governance requires the sustainable management of water resources which in turn implies the maximisation of economic, social and environmental goals. Research by the author has already shown that youth economic traits are on the whole encouraging and that they are ready to accept that valuing water resources may have some negative economic outcomes but that these do not automatically exclude positive environmental action. From a societal perspective, the same research has also shown that youths, whilst conscious of the value of water and the need to value it properly, often consider such action to be dependent on others. This paper details the environmental traits of the current Maltese youth cohort as part of a wider assessment of Maltese society and provides the third complementary link to the published discussions on economic and social traits. This would permit the formation of the basis for developing a robust water governance framework for Malta. It demonstrates that there is potential to bank on today's youths as future guardians of water resources but also indicates that a greater effort should be undertaken to secure the mainstreaming of knowledge and awareness across all learning pathways.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"105"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44180635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It largely determines its performance during its deployment in the population. This, in fact, considers the avoidance of two extremes: the sub-study, defined by a reduced tree, poorly capturing relevant information of the learning data; the over-learning, defined by an exaggerated size of the tree, capturing the specifics of the learning data, characteristics that can not be transposed in the population. In both cases, we have a less performing prediction model. This paper presents an approach of indirect pre-pruning introduced within the algorithm classification and regression tree (CART) expansion phase; it is based on the rules generated from the decision tree and uses validation criteria inspired from the data mining techniques to discover association rules.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"165"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44041656","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This industry is a good money generator to help economic growth and balance of payment of a country. This paper will identify several issues faced by Malaysia in its quest to remain competitive in this industry. The study is aimed to determine which factor is the most importance in providing a high contribution towards medical tourism. This research work assessed four dimensions under human capital construct, and also four dimensions under the physical infrastructure construct. The study also included one mediator construct linking the relationship between each exogenous construct and the intended endogenous construct namely the behavioural loyalty. The study employed stratified sampling method to obtain random sample from foreign tourists seeking treatments in three cities namely Kuala Lumpur, Malacca and Penang. The study utilises partial least square path modelling (PLS-PM). Finally, the result revealed that human capital, high technology, physical infrastructure, and patient satisfaction have positive impact on patient loyalty. Furthermore, the human capital construct was seemed the most importance factor in contributing to the success of medical tourism.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"139"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46605673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its development in northeast region is perceived crucial for livelihood diversification and security in an otherwise agriculture-based economy. As tourism is climate-sensitive, and its potential depends on climate-induced seasonality, it is crucial to prioritise sustainable tourism. Therefore, this paper aims to identify the potential of tourism sector based on the climate-induced seasonality of tourism in Northeast India by using the tourism climatic index (TCI). Recognition of sustainable tourism by state tourism policies provides the impetus for the proposed research. Uniqueness of the study is that findings of TCI were matched with field survey. Further, perceptions of tourism service providers on climate change were gathered. Among the states considered, Meghalaya and Sikkim were found to have suitable climatic conditions throughout the year, while Assam has only five months. The paper concludes that capturing state-specific climate-tourism interaction is crucial for planning sustainable tourism.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"119"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-08-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44012908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed method has been developed by using the main concepts of the maintenance service of production systems, and transferring them into the healthcare services. To this aim, significant analogies have been recognised between a basic strategy for production system maintenance and the main actions to be done for patient healthcare. Based on this analogy, main key performance indicators (KPI) in industrial maintenance have been directly related to KPIs in healthcare. Then, a transfer of industrial maintenance actions, described by a specific ontology, has originated a corresponding ontology of main healthcare activities at the level of a territorial healthcare service system. The resulting ontology has been applied as a guide in conducting the analysis of the characteristics and performance of a regional healthcare system.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"9 1","pages":"58-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1504/IJSSS.2017.083617","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46361226","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
