We use companies on the sectors of food and beverages, mining, and properties listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange in 2017. We find that consumer proximity and media exposure had a positive effect on CSR disclosure, and control variables of company leverage and size had similar positive effects. Overall, our results indicate that the closeness of the company with consumers indirectly formed by its products can make companies give more disclosure of their CSR activities. Then, media exposure is proved to have significant effect on the CSR disclosure of the companies. It drives the companies to give information to all stakeholders about their business decision making. This research demonstrates that consumer proximity can make a company more disclosure of their CSR activities. Then, the important role from the media can give information about their business decision making as information to stakeholders.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44117137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This opportunity, however, is not always directly proportional to the share performance of these Indonesian building and construction companies. This study examines window dressing practices conducted by some construction and building companies as an attempt to manipulate their financial status. Companies carry out this manipulative practice to attract possible investors and other funding agencies in their business. To detect and avoid this fraudulent practice, investors need to carefully calculate the cash holdings and stock performance of these companies. The study found different result of calculation between the two techniques. Cash holdings technique confirms the fact that most companies perform window dressing to attract investors. Meanwhile, showing the real firm performance, stock performance technique is only adopted by a small number of companies. This finding is expected to contribute to risk management, in relation to identifying a risk.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45151923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current outbreak of a new coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in Thailand is a crisis for the tourism industry and economy. Due to their characteristics, budget hotels are vulnerable as they are mostly owned by individuals lacking finance, manpower, strategy, or a plan to overcome the crisis. Hence, this study focuses on the budget hotels in Muang Chiangmai District area. The purpose of the research is to understand effects of COVID-19 and develop an approach in crisis management especially for budget hotels. This study employed mixed method concept, by combining qualitative and quantitative methods. The results of the study show that manager perception, well trained staff, strategy, and planning to combat crisis plays a crucial role in crisis management.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47009386","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The BSC framework could not make comprehensive attention to the key stakeholders, such as employees and natural environment. Moreover, it has some scarcity on a methodological basis. Multi-criteria decision-making techniques (MCDM), therefore has been chosen to achieve more realistic results from implementing BSC. In this research both qualitative and quantitative research methods are used. In the qualitative part, the data will be collected by interviewing with experts and then they are analysed with NVIVO software. In the quantitative part, twenty-seven measures of performance were recognised through expert questionnaires and the fuzzy Delphi method (FDM). Further, the relative weights of the selected measures are determined via TOPSIS technique. The result indicates that, 'environment' perspective has the highest rank in comparison with other perspectives.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43208760","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Non-declining or levelling world population growth is the most significant hurdle to sustainable agriculture and food security. Today, about 1 billion people are chronically hungry, and this crisis is a result of inefficient food production and distribution system, and undeveloped agricultural land that is leaving room to grow food for the additional 2-3 billion people globally expected by 2050. This research offers to various practitioners, learners, and academicians' data from emergency literature on technological innovations to help overcome agricultural concerns for meeting a process improvement initiative.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41566378","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, such projects are neither free of interference from political class nor consistently sustainable. Most recent studies evaluating the factors associated with sustainability of such projects typically examine case studies, or focus on environment, social and economic aspects. To fill this gap, this study used empirical data in a variety of community-based projects, in different geographical settings with different cultural experiences to examine the effect of community culture on sustainability and explore the interaction effect of legal-political framework on the relationship between community culture and sustainability. Using partial least square structure equation modelling and regression analysis, the study shows that community culture, has a positive significant effect on sustainability. Additionally, legal-political framework has an interaction effect. The study suggests that assimilating culture in the projects life cycle and aligning projects legislations with culture can result to sustainability.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45423932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The solution is derived based on a utility function that applies a weighted penalty for deviation from the optimally equitable team. This technique is then tested by forming teams from a pool of over 200 students with a range of attributes for a high-quality business consulting experience. In addition to saving time and effort, benefits include procedural justice and elimination of bias, defensibility of team formation and expectation of trust, and equitable distribution of competence across teams. As demonstrated here, the technique was remarkably successful at creating teams with respect to the competing priorities from stakeholders. Results are discussed in detail and exemplify efficiency, scalability, and most importantly, equitably formed teams.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43265666","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It will be argued in this paper that the resulting sui generis instantiation of Aboriginal title formulated in the courts reflects some of the more challenging aspects of sustainable development discourse. In this paper key Canadian court decisions will be examined to illustrate how the courts have addressed aspects of sustainable development in Aboriginal rights and title litigation, which are traditionally difficult to measure and implement. Indeed, these cases provide a window into how courts may implement sustainable development goals if these considerations become integrated into broader legal determinations, and provide insight what may become expected if deep sustainable development becomes accepted into dominant domestic legal and political systems.","PeriodicalId":89681,"journal":{"name":"International journal of society systems science","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43435702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
