The study carries the analysis by considering 12 countries’ indices categorized as developing and developed on the basis of their GDP. Five econometric tools were applied for accomplishing the objectives and it was evidenced that the American and Indian stock market are weak-form inefficient whereas most of the statistical tools adjudged three countries (i.e., Hong Kong, Singapore & South Korea) weak-form efficient. It was also unveiled in the study that settlement cycle, information disclosure, thinness of trading, trading hours, and market size could be the potential reasons impacting the weak form of efficiency of the stock market.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"1 1","pages":"216 - 235"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82377225","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Despite of the increase in the number of Internet users, the penetration rate of Internet shopping in the country remains low. Hence, this article focuses on building a model around the factors that are responsible for lack of trust in Indian consumers on Internet shopping and unveiling their effect on the consumers’ buying intention. Confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) and structure equation modelling (SEM) with AMOS 20.0 was used to confirm factor structure and to perform second-order SEM on the 5-point Likert scale proposed model tested empirically on a sample of 549 individuals. Our research indicates that there are various antecedents like brand orientation, website design, prior online purchase experience, quality orientation, perceived risk, perceived security control, perceived privacy control, perceived integrity, perceived competence, third-party integration and legal framework which affects consumer trust in Internet shopping which is positively associated with an intention to buy. However, the purchase intention of Indian consumers is influenced by the trustworthiness dimension of the model which depends on the factors affecting the consumer trust in e-shopping.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"77 1","pages":"191 - 215"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74737129","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent researches in organizational studies have strengthened the notion of workplace spirituality for creating meaningful job, delight, contentment and hope at work that generate employee engagement, and organizational commitment. Such type of job behaviour is expected to produce better job performance of employees while deriving higher productivity of the organization. Keeping this in view, the present study was designed to examine the role of workplace spirituality in employee job behaviour through the construct of employee engagement and organizational commitment. The findings revealed that factors of workplace spirituality significantly and positively influence job behaviour dimensions. It also reported that workplace spirituality has significant effects on vigour and affective commitment. The meaningful work dimension of workplace spirituality was found to be significant predictors of employee engagement and organizational commitment. The study has a number of implications for academicians and human resource (HR) professionals for devising suitable mechanisms to create individual–organization fitment interventions.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"1 1","pages":"159 - 175"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81830757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using a sample of 12 equity ETFs from 1 April 2011 to 31 March 2015, the present article attempts to examine the performance efficiency of ETFs in India and explore factors that drive the performance of ETFs away from their target indices. The study reveals that ETFs exhibit significant tracking error while trying to replicate the returns of their benchmark indices. The results of panel regression analysis further reveal that the assets under management and volume positively affected the tracking ability of ETFs whereas volatility is reported to have negative impact on the tracking efficiency of ETFs. The results will have important implications for investors, managers as well as for the evaluation criteria involved in assessing the performance of actively managed funds.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"10 1","pages":"176 - 190"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87725975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study sought to identify and deconstruct the service quality in the Indian modern retail context. The retail service quality dimensions were explored and identified and thereafter they were empirically validated through confirmatory analysis. A multistage process was adopted in pursuance of objectives. First, the underlying factor structure of retail service quality was identified by literature review, customer opinion survey, expert evaluation and factor analysis. It was followed by model development for service quality which is subjected to empirical testing. The data is analyzed using AMOS (v.20) by which validity and reliability of the service quality measure is established. The hypothesis that retail service quality is a multidimensional construct was supported by data analysis. The service quality instrument was later empirically verified and confirmed with the help of structural equation modelling.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"1 1","pages":"143 - 158"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90811964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The sample was initially split into public sector and private sector banks. Earning before tax (EBT) of public sector banks appear to be generated by all the assets under the asset portfolio while, in private sector banks, the EBT seems to be produced by loans and advances and deposits and placings to banks. From liabilities’ perspective, the ‘short-term funding’ appears to be the cheapest for both the bank groups. The sample was then split into high-profit and low-profit banks. The results show that, compared to the high-profit banks, low-profit banks experience higher rate of return on loans and advances, investments and fixed assets. The study does not find that high-profit banks always enjoy relatively cheaper cost of funding than low-profit banks.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"58 2","pages":"131 - 142"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1177/0971890716670707","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72481456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Forex markets witnessed continuous weakening of rupee against dollar, followed by rise in crude oil prices, gold prices, inflation rate which made RBI to interfere with its hike in policy rates to curb the inflation. Effect of one market on another market is not a new thing, but the variations in the degree of impact and co-movements between the markets need to be examined. The main objective of this article is to study the causal relationship between oil, gold, forex and stock markets, for a period ranging from January 2005 till July 2015. This study employs the Granger causality test. The results indicate that the existence of only unidirectional relationship among the variables. The Granger causality test reveals that oil prices contribute towards development and forecasting of exchange rate and gold prices, whereas fluctuations in oil prices are granger caused by Sensex.","PeriodicalId":89555,"journal":{"name":"Global health governance : the scholarly journal for the new health security paradigm","volume":"14 1","pages":"83 - 91"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84318578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
