This figure represents 3.3% of the world population. Studies show higher rates of illness, disability, death and lower quality care for immigrants. Health professionals and their cultural competency has usually been the focus on research when discussing about cultural diversity care, with less attention paid to the organization in which they work. A narrative review of the literature was carried out aiming at identifying both the characteristics that health organizations should have in order to be culturally competent, and possible improvement actions to provide quality care in response to cultural diversity. The literature shows that in order to be culturally competent, organizations must include five aspects: the organizational commitment to diversity, the existence of managers that promote actions focused on cultural diversity, the maintenance of data records of the population they cover, the presence of diverse personnel working in them and the guarantee of the maintenance of a culturally competent communication. A pregnancy at a young age is a responsibility for the woman who presents it because she has to face a society full of prejudices, the main consequence at this age is to temporarily or permanently leave school to take responsibility for this new situation. Objective: Knowing the factors that influence the dropout of adolescent mothers in an indigenous community. Methodology: A quantitative, transversal and descriptive study was carried out, we studied a sample of 16 adolescent mothers between 15 and 20 years old, an information sheet was used to identify the main causes of school dropout, respecting autonomy, justice, beneficence and non-maleficence at all times. Results: The main cause was the lack of economic resources followed by the loss of interest in the studies and caring for their child. Por ello, el objetivo del presente trabajo fue evaluar la atencion de enfermeria en un Programa de Control Prenatal de una Institucion Prestadora de Servicios de Salud de Malambo – Atlantico desde la opinion de las gestantes. Metodologia: Se desarrollo un estudio cuantitativo, de tipo descriptivo y transversal, en el que se encuestaron 20 gestantes pertenecientes al programa de control prenatal, teniendo en cuenta aspectos eticos y metodologicos de rigor. Resultados: Los aspectos mejor valorados por las gestantes en la atencion prenatal fueron: la informacion que la enfermera le proporciona y la vigilancia de los signos vitales. Los aspectos peor valorados fueron: la vigilancia de la dieta y la educacion con respecto al cuidado futuro de su hijo. El 45% manifesto que la atencion de enfermeria durante el control prenatal fue buena. Discusion: Las gestantes perciben buena atencion de enfermeria en el programa de control prenatal, pero requieren mayor educacion sobre signos de alarma, cuidado del bebe y habitos alimenticios. Hallazgo coherente con estudios previos revisados.
