Determining students’ PMS experience and coping levels with them can contribute to the development of effective strategies. This research was carried out to determine the premenstrual symptoms, coping experiences of the students with them and coping levels of the students experiencing PMS. Methods: This research is in a mixed method design that includes quantitative and qualitative data collection methods. The number of participants was 436 students. Quantitative data of the study were collected through an introductory information form, premenstrual coping measure (PCM), and qualitative data were collected through individual interviews using a semi-structured form. Results: The mean age of the participants was 20.65±1.68, mean age at menarche was 12.96±1.22. The rate of students experiencing PMS frequently was 41.1%, the rate of those who had regular menstruation was 73.9%, and the rate of those with dysmenorrhea was 90.3%. The most common symptoms were anxiety (73.4%), fatigue (72.3%), breast tenderness (71.1%), appetite changes (70.6%). The students' coping skills with PMS were at a good level. Methods: EDTA and citrate-based anti-coagulant blood samples from the same patients were read in the auto-analyzer at 0, 30, 60, and 120 minutes after sampling and the results were compared. Results: A total of 54 patients, 29 of whom were women, over the age of 18 were included in the study. Baseline blood MPV values were found to be 0.524 fL greater in the EDTA-based group (p<0.001). When the difference between the time periods in the EDTA group was examined, it was observed that there was a significant increase in deltaMPV values in each 30-minute time period. When the difference between the time periods in the citrate-based group was examined, there was a significant difference at the 30 th and 60 th minutes (p<0.001), however the difference disappeared at the second hour (p>0.05). We aimed to observe and describe the role of shear-wave elastography (SWE) to distinct benign and non-benign thyroid nodules before a fine-needle aspiration biopsy (FNAB). Methods: Ninety-seven patients were prospectively included in the study from March 2019 to January 2020. Patients with a history of thyroid infections, surgery or trauma of thyroid tissue, autoimmune diseases associated with thyroid gland, non-diagnostic histopathology (Bethesda I) were excluded from the study. Thyroid imaging reporting and data system (TI-RADS) based on the 2017 American College of Radiology (ACR) was used for the radiological classification of nodules. Patients’ age, number of thyroid nodules, SWE value of nodules, and TI-RADS categories were compared to pathological classification. Results: The mean age of patients was 49.80±11.42 years. The aim of this study is to use the FA approach to determine how smoking affects mandibular trabecular bone structure on panoramic radiographs. Methods: While 55 smokers constituted the study group, 55 non-smokers constituted the control group. The study and control groups were paired for age and sex. Two region of interest (ROIs) with a pixel size of 100x100 were determined from the right mandibular angulus and the trabecular bone region between the right second premolar and first molar roots (interdental). Utilizing the box-counting technique, FA was conducted on the ROIs identified by the panoramic radiography. SPSS 21.0, developed by IBM Corp in Armonk, NY, USA, was used for the data analysis. At the 0.05 threshold, p-value was regarded as significant. Results: The mean age of 74 male and 36 female individuals included in the study was 23.54±3.57 years. Fractal dimension (FD) values of gonial (p=0.528) and interdental regions (p=0.490) did not differ statistically from each other between the study-control groups (p>0.05). When the correlation analysis of pack-year values of smoking exposure and FD measurements was performed, a negative correlation that was not statistically significant was found (p>0.05). Conclusion: As cigarette exposure increases, FD values tend to decrease.
