Experience, however, contradicts this expectation and often imprisonment had the opposite effect. This study was conducted to test whether a known system of Yoga Prana Vidya (YPV) intervention can be applied for prisoners to increase their psychological well-being (PWB) and reduce the criminal attitude (CATS). Materials & Method : Pre and Post-test without control group design was adopted for the present study. A mixed method was used to collect the data to see the effect of a 3-month YPV intervention on 30 under-trial prisoners. For Quantitative part of study Psychological well-being (PWB) and Criminal Attitude Test (CATS)were used before and after the intervention. Statistical analysis was conducted using IBM SPSS. Qualitative research interviews were conducted on 10 participants out of the 30 and the interview notes were analyzed. Results: Statistical analysis of quantitative data showed that there was a significantly positive change in the PWB and CATS parameters after the intervention. The qualitative analysis yielded four themes: (1) YPV is a positively Life-changing phenomenon, easy to practice daily, (2) Clear Intention to sustain YPV practice after release from jail, (3) Desirous of promoting, helping and recommending YPV to others to learn and practice, and (4) Some challenges experienced by participants in the intervention. Conclusions: YPV intervention produced positive results for prisoners who practised regularly. It is recommended that Government agencies and Social Workers may consider these findings for appropriate implementation of YPV in their Prison reform efforts for reducing crime rate and recidivism. It is a type of substance which has a component known as Delta 9-THC (tetrahydrocannabinol). It is the primary psychoactive compound of cannabis. In cannabis concentration of THC has been increased more than 12% in the last 30 years, which is making this drug stronger than it used to be. Aim: To assess the effectiveness of cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) and motivational enhancement therapy (MET) in persistent cannabis users. Method : Sample: The sample (n=20) was selected from Sankalp drug de-addiction suited in Tarn Taran, Punjab after assessment of executive functions. The participants were further divided into four groups i.e. Gr I =CBT, Gr II =MET, Gr III =CBT+MET, and Gr IV =Control. Tools: In the present study total 5 test were used for measurement of executive function. These were; 1) Rey O sterrieth Complex Figure ( ROCF) , 2) Stroop Neuropsychological Screening Test (SNST) 3) Working Memory Index: -i) Number Letter Sequencing Test ii) Arithmetic Test iii) Digit Span Test from Wechsler Adult Intelligence Scale-III 4) Memory Scale from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Neuropsychological Battery and 5) Wisconsin Card Sorting Test. Results: The analysis was done with SPSS 16.0. In the results, it has been found that before the intervention all four groups were performed equally on all tasks of executive functions. And all groups had equal deficits in the executive functions. In the post-intervention results, it has been seen that a combination of both therapies is more efficient than single therapy. Conclusion: Overall in most of the areas of executive functions the patient showed more improvement than the control group when a combination of both therapies was used. It was presumed that the abstract index score would display basic inborn intelligence and crystallize would display how much of basic was made operational. 'Abstract > concrete' pattern, therefore, might indicate under development of potential and this could be attributed to ineffective parenting due to lack of time to parents [both working] or due to mother's over-concern with her own persona, or being overprotective to a child holding a precious position in the family. Materials and Method: With this background, 40 subjects in the age range of 6 to 15 were administered MISIC short scale. Results & Conclusions: Analysis of data indicated that all the three assumptions were significant suggesting that parenting plays a great role in fuller optimization of potential. Initial research considered adoption in itself to be a risk factor. However, recent research disputes this assumption and is geared towards examining factors and processes contributing to psychological issues in adoptees. In this regard, this paper proposes a psychological formulation linking being adopted to demonstrated problem behaviours; based on case reports of three adolescents. Introducing the concept of ‘good-fit parenting’, the formulation proposes that problem behaviours in adoptees are mediated by an insecure attachment style; with contributions from parenting behaviours and adoptee's stage of development.
