Food Science &Technology (FST) is also an important subject domain where rapid developments are taking place due to large and diverse research and development activities. Due to these, information storage and retrieval has become very complex and current information retrieval systems (IRs) are constrained in achieving a high precision with good response time. To overcome these constraints as well as provide natural language based effective context based retrieval mechanism, a knowledge engineering framework need to be applied to represent, share and discover information. Semantic web technologies provides the mechanism for creating knowledge based systems, ontologies and rules for handling the data, ultimately results in intelligent information retrieval. Ontologies are the backbone of these types of knowledge systems. Ontology is a knowledge represented on the basis of conceptualization that intends a description of object and concept sets and relations between them. The set of objects, and the description of relationship among them, reflected the representational vocabulary with which a knowledge-based program knowledge.","PeriodicalId":85535,"journal":{"name":"Social science information studies : SSIS","volume":"10 1","pages":"181-192"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85778596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Network risk management process is the process of identifying, assessing, and controlling risks arising from network operational factors and making decisions. The main objective of the study was to analyze the effect of network risk management process on service delivery using Broadband Systems Corporation Company as a case. For data collection, a questionnaire was administered to the 148 selected respondents, 13 of whom were BSC Staff and 135 of them BSC Customers. Sampling methodology was based on stratified random sampling of each stratum by using a table of random numbers. Collected data was analyzed using tables and multiple regression analysis. Findings indicated that 92.31% of the staff assessed effectively network risk monitoring, in addition 84.62% of the staff indicated that they put in place the mechanism for network risk mitigation. However, majority of BSC customers (83.71%) were satisfied with services provided by BSC. Multiple regression analysis was used to estimate the relationship between network risk management process and service delivery at BSC, thereby depicting a very strong, positive correlation between network risk management process and service delivery. Subsequently, recommendations for Rwanda ISPs with findings were suggested to enhance network risk mitigation.","PeriodicalId":85535,"journal":{"name":"Social science information studies : SSIS","volume":"28 1","pages":"33-44"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81577059","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
