Abstract
A total 2723 citations appended to 17 doctoral theses in the subject of Agronomy and Plant Breeding awarded during the year 2010–2014 by CCSHAU, Hisar were analyzed and carried out to identify the bibliographic forms of the cited documents, authorship pattern, country-wise distribution, ranking of the highly cited journals, etc. The findings reveals that more than 70% of the citations in both the subject were from journals and majority of the articles contributed by two authors in agronomy as compared to plant breeding where both two and three authors were dominated with a slightly difference. In agronomy, majority of articles with 40% were contributed from India whereas maximum with 20% of the articles in plant breeding were from USA. Indian Journal of Weed Science and Theoretical and Applied Genetics occupies the first rank in both agronomy and plant breeding, respectively. More than 50% of the cited journals in both subjects are 12–14 years old and Bradford's law does not fit well in the field of agronomy and plant breeding.
