Swatland","doi":"10.24203/AJET.V9I1.6519","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24203/AJET.V9I1.6519","url":null,"abstract":"--A reflecting microscope spectrophotometer was used for the colorimetry of wood using CIE (Commission Internationale de l’Éclairage) chromaticity coordinates. A microscope scanning stage and scanning with optical fibers were used to detect grain patterns. Ten exotic woods with a fine grain structure were tested because they are highly valued in the manufacture of musical instruments and furniture, and they had a wide range in color and grain structure. With lateral illumination (45°) of samples and a large measuring aperture, the results were comparable to those that might be obtained with a commercial colorimeter detecting diffuse Lambertian reflectance. With vertical illumination and coaxial photometry in a microscope, Fresnel reflectance was dominant. The best predictor of CIE x with lateral illumination was reflectance at 400 nm (r = 0.916, P < 0.0005) and the relationship persisted with vertical illumination (r = -0.67, P < 0.025). Scanning across woods at 520 nm with a microscope scanning stage, there were relationships of CIE x with scanning peak height (r = 0.75 P < 0.01). In scanning across 6 cm of wood with optical fibers, there was a relationship of the number of reflectance peaks (from wood grain between dark lines) with peak width (r = 0.89, P < 0.0005). Woods with a fine grain had numerous small peaks while woods with a coarse grain had a few wide peaks. That is to know the more suitable methods for protection against floods and to maximize benefits from the excess water. This study aims to establish a relation between the rational method and the SCS method. A subbasin in Wadi Dahab in Sinai, Egypt is investigated as a study area. To achieve the study aims, HEC-WMS software is chosen, which can analyze a watershed by using DEM and delineating basin. It calculates also important watershed parameters like area, runoff distances, and slope. The rainfall data is compiled and arranged. A statical analysis is executed to obtain the IDF curves. Hyfran-plus software is employed to locate the maximum depths for different return periods. Various values for the time of concentration are studied. It is concluded that the difference between the rational and SCS methods is great for the time of concentration till 2 hours, then it decreases obviously from 2 till 6 hours. Also, it is concluded that the difference between the two methods is bigger for the small return periods of 2 and 5 years for all values of the time of concentration. NaCl is identified as one of the most aggressive pollutants for atmospheric corrosion to occur in coastal environments. Weather conditions in Cuba, together with its configuration and geographic location allow that the influence of the marine aerosol arrived to almost all the national territory favoring notably the deterioration of materials, especially the metallic ones. For this reason, it was decided to carry out a preliminary study of the effect of the coastal atmosphere on the corrosion of the components in metallic structures AT-60 and Najasa models of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) in Ciego de Ávila, Cuba. The selected components were subjected to micro and macro analysis. In this article, an applied energy model based on separation of energy components of the system is extracted and expanded to apply in linear viscoelastic problems, although this method is applicable in nonlinear problems as well. It is assumed that the whole energy of the system can be divided into two parts: Residual and noninertial energies. The non-inertial energy is the sum of the energies that do not depend on the inertia of the system, while residual energy is the remaining of total energy. When an amount of energy is applied to the system, by determining the non-inertial energy from a novel energy conservation equation, the residual energy can be calculated. Some basic viscoelastic examples are investigated and obtained results will be compared with the expected ones. With analysis by the simulation using the package, V 4.2p/1.67 of FluidSIM 4 from FESTO. The demographic factors analyzedusing mean & standard deviation of self-actualization. For this purpose, a sample survey has been conducted taking a sample size of 419 using techniques multistage random sampling. In our research academic leaders belonging to different age groups, gender, educational qualification, different designation, salary and years of experience were surveyed. From the descriptive analysis most of the academic leaders is male and their age group is 49-53 years. \u0000Most of the academic leader’s qualification is Ph.D. and their designation are SCAA/AC/Chair/Co-ordinator. Most of the academic leader’s monthly income is Rs 150001 to 210000 and their experience 21 to 26 years. The further analysis is Equanimity has been ranked as top most self-actualization Dimensions. This implies that academic leaders give more importance to self-actualization. Academic leader’s role is important at any institution of higher education. The plate is assumed to move with a constant velocity in the direction of fluid flow while the free stream velocity is assumed to follow the exponentially increasing small perturbation law. Time-dependent wall suction is assumed to occur at the permeable surface. The dimensionless governing equations for this investigation are solved analytically using two-term harmonic and non-harmonic functions. Numerical evaluation of the analytical results is performed and some graphical results such as visco-elastic parameter Rm, heat absorption parameter Q, Grashof number Gr, Prandtl number Pr, time t, suction velocity parameter A, moving velocity parameter Up and an exponential parameter ε, for the velocity and temperature profiles within the boundary layer are presented. After careful review of the existing literature perceived cost effectiveness, quality concerns of logistics outsourcing, perceived risk and perceived professionalism of logistics service provider were identified for the study as their high theoretical and empirical importance in determining outsourcing decision. Primary data was collected by means of semi structured questionnaire from 60 organizations that carry out manufacturing and trading businesses in Sri Lanka. The collected data was analyzed using descriptive statistics and simple and multiple linear regression analysis. Initial simple linear regression analysis proved the statistically significant impact that each of the identified variables have on the adoption of outsourcing. However the multiple regression estimated in this study to analyze the collective effect of the suggested model concludes that the decision makers perception about the cost effectiveness of outsourcing and their perception of risk of outsourcing better explain the adoption of outsourcing in Manufacturing and trading sector in Sri Lanka. Hence, the outsource decision depends on the careful assessment of the decision-making company on its cost effectiveness and possible risk.
