Usando las encuestas de hogares de los años 2013, 2015 y 2017, se comparan las probabilidades de estar activo, tener empleo y la informalidad laboral entre inmigrantes y chilenos. Controlando por variables sociodemográficas y el tiempo de llegada a Chile, los resultados indican que los inmigrantes no se encontraban en situación de desventaja con respecto a la población nativa en lo referido a los niveles de actividad y desempleo en los años analizados. Sin embargo, se aprecian diferencias en el acceso a ocupaciones de mayor calificación, tanto según el país de origen como por género. La informalidad laboral entre los inmigrantes latinoamericanos parece reducir su acceso a los puestos de trabajo más calificados y de mejor calidad en comparación con los migrantes con trabajo formal.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":"69 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136379643","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Los datos corresponden a la encuesta oficial de población activa del Uruguay, que caracteriza a migrantes de retorno según el tiempo de asentamiento. La investigación se enfoca en la población retornada de España, la de mayor presencia en los flujos migratorios de personas uruguayas durante el siglo XXI. La metodología empleada consiste en la estimación de modelos probit bietápicos, en los que primero se modela la probabilidad de tener un empleo y posteriormente la de estar en condiciones de (in)adecuación educativa respecto de la ocupación principal. El análisis multivariado sugiere que hay una relación negativa entre la condición de retornante reciente y el acceso al empleo en condiciones adecuadas, así como una acentuación del efecto negativo de la experiencia migratoria reciente en las personas de más edad y nivel educativo.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136379642","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dado que las teorías sobre la evolución de la morbilidad suelen basarse en indicadores que giran en torno a la media, consideramos la posibilidad de expandir este marco empleando medidas de tendencia central y dispersión de los indicadores de salud, utilizando datos de la Argentina. Los valores de estos indicadores no siempre se verificaron en simultáneo al analizar la dinámica esperada de la morbilidad de una población. En este sentido, la principal conclusión del trabajo es la necesidad de abordar los análisis de las trayectorias de salud y morbilidad de las poblaciones sobre la base de un amplio conjunto de indicadores estadísticos que visibilicen una mayor complejidad del fenómeno y no conduzcan a conclusiones posiblemente incompletas.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"136379646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By May 2022, just over 5 million people in Mexico had recovered from COVID-19, an alarming figure as the lingering effects could severely impair their health or even lead to death. This study therefore aims to locate these groups of recovered patients and determine their size, by means of clusters, considering variables such as age and comorbidities. Particular emphasis is also placed on the level of municipal sociodemographic marginalization in 2020. Official information from the Ministry of Health was employed and the k-medoids algorithm was used for estimation. Key findings include the conclusion that most of those who have recovered from COVID-19 reside in municipalities with very low marginalization and are largely women.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44477360","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a comparative analysis is performed of the specific characteristics of the Argentine regulatory framework. The effects of the country’s regularization system are then examined, along with its operation, through applications for permanent residency that have been resolved. The article then turns to an examination of the characteristics of the population group, potential gaps in meaningful access to social and economic rights, and the possibility of voting in Buenos Aires, where the largest numbers of Venezuelan migrants are found in both absolute and relative terms. In its conclusion, the article reiterates the importance of regularization of migratory status as a precondition (although neither the sole nor a sufficient condition) for the effective access to rights of this population group in Argentina.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42874596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Making a distinction between children and adolescents, the authors answer the following questions: Do changes relating to the homicide of minors, who are supposedly less exposed to the risk of homicide, mirror the trends and characteristics of the phenomenon in the general population? In a context in which impunity is prevalent, has homicidal violence become generalized in those groups? It is concluded that the increase in homicides in Mexico has resulted in significant impacts for minors, in particular those over the age of two. With increasing frequency, minors are the victims of homicide by firearm or other forms of violence, in public and in the home. The increase in the homicide of minors has affected both sexes, albeit at different rates.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48177227","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To achieve this, an analysis is conducted of the content of human rights instruments, from the earliest to the most recent. The goal is to understand transformations in the concepts of who is the subject of the law, what rights should be guaranteed and which distributive justice criteria should guide the design of systems for transferring income to older persons. The results of the study highlight increasing tensions between contributory social security and the criteria of universal access and equitable distribution of social rights in old age, which are explored in greater depth in international legal instruments.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48757674","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These factors include disrupted access to health services, increased unemployment and restrictions on movement. Mediation models are used in a panel by department from 2014 to 2021. The results indicate that unemployment and the closure of commercial and leisure establishments are mediator variables for the 2020 effect on the departmental general fertility rate for married (or cohabiting) women, while for single (unmarried) women no mediator variables are found. This means that the departmental general fertility rate for married women could be related to the economic contraction, while the rate for single women seems to have been affected mainly by the strict lockdowns.","PeriodicalId":85218,"journal":{"name":"Notas de poblacion","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"49652216","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
