El grupo estaba compuesto por del Perojo, Enrique Jose Varona, Rafael Montoro (todos ellos originarios de Cuba) y Manuel de la Revilla. Trataron de promover una renovacion de la Filosofia y la ciencia espanolas sobre la base del pensamiento de la escuela neokantiana de Heidelberg y la Psicologia Fisiologica de Wundt. Para la difusion de sus ideas contaron con dos medios de prestigio: la Revista Contemporanea, en Madrid y la Revista de Cuba, en La Habana. El sector neocatolico espanol recibio con cruda hostilidad el proyecto y la intelectualidad krausopositivista lo hizo con recelo y prevencion, consciente de la dificultad de integrar el proyecto wundtiano en la Psicologia de inspiracion krausista. EnglishThe new scientific Psychology of Wundt arrived in Spain in the decade of 1871-1881 from the hand of a group of Spanish intellectuals led by Jose del Perojo y Figueras. The group was composed of del Perojo, Enrique Jose Varona, Rafael Montoro (all of them from Cuba) and Manuel de la Revilla. They tried to promote a renewal of Spanish Philosophy and Science on the basis of the thought of the neo-Kantian school of Heidelberg and the Physiological Psychology of Wundt. For the dissemination of their ideas, they had two prestigious media: the Revista Contemporanea, in Madrid and the Revista de Cuba, in Havana. Para ello, se hace una sucinta descripcion historica de los acontecimientos que favorecieron el nacimiento, ya en los anos 50 del siglo XX, de la primera revista, la AP: IR y, ya en el siglo XXI, del surgimiento de la AP: HWB, asi como de su organizacion y objetivos, junto con una sintesis de la trayectoria profesional de los editores de ambas revistas. La segunda parte del estudio analiza de forma global los articulos mas citados a partir de los datos de la web of Science, despues de distribuirlos en quinquenios. EnglishThe main objective of this descriptive study is to analyze the scientific journals that emerged under the International Association of Applied Psychology (IAAP): Applied Psychology. An International Review (AP: IR) and Applied Psychology - Health & Well-being (AP: HWB). On one hand, a brief historical description of the events around the creation of both journals is done; AP: IR born in the 50s, AP: HWB in the 21st century. Furthermore, an analysis of the organization and objectives, along with a synthesis of the professional career of the editors of both journals is performed. Combinamos el enfoque de los estudios de recepcion con el analisis de las condiciones materiales de circulacion del conocimiento en transito. La visita ocurrio durante el periodo de la psicologia argentina descrito por Klappenbach (2006) como la era filosofica. Senalamos que los conocimientos previos de la Gestaltheorie estaban presentes en Buenos Aires y en las instituciones que patrocinaron la actividad. Por este motivo, analizamos articulos publicados, periodicos y las actas de la Institucion Cultural Argentino-Germana, que fue la institucion que patrocino la visita del cientifico aleman. El objetivo de esta institucion era difundir la cultura alemana en la Argentina pero, ademas, sostenemos que esta visita podria entenderse en terminos del interes por la psicologia de un publico mas amplio tambien. Asi, mostramos las multiples afiliaciones institucionales de los intelectuales que participaron en “La Cultural” y como esta condicion facilito las conexiones y los intercambios personales entre personas de diferentes campos. EnglishIn this work we attempt to address in detail Kohler´s visit to Argentina in 1930 to show the history of reception of Gestalttheorie in this country. We combine the approach of reception studies with the analysis of material conditions of circulation of the knowledge in transit. The visit occurred during the period of Argentinean Psychology described by Klappenbach (2006) as the philosophic era. We point out that previous knowledge on Gestaltheorie was present in Buenos Aires and the institutions that sponsored the activity. Because of this, we analyze published papers, newspapers and proceedings of the Institucion Cultural Argentino-Germana that was the institution that effectively sponsored the visit of the German scientist. The aim of the institution was to disseminate the German culture in Argentina but, in addition, we hold that this visit could be understood in terms of the interest in psychology of a wider audience as well. As it is usually said before starting a presentation, “the author does not need a presentation”. In the case of Helio, Professor Emeritus, founder of the Revista de Historia de la Psicología, founder of the Spanish Society of the History of Psychology and President of the Psychology Academy of Spain, this is surely true. But what really deserves a presentation, even in a very summarized and non exhaustive way, is the gigantic scientific and cultural work of Helio. As the protobehaviorist evangelical passage says, “Ye shall know them by their fruits”, so here we offer you in Appendix 1 an extract of the work of Helio. Initially, special attention was paid to the pioneering experiences and theorisations of an almost unknown author, born in the then Portuguese India, Jose Custodio de Faria (1756-1819), examining his doctrinal and conceptual opposition to both Franz Anton Mesmer (1734-1815) and the fluidist and spiritualist currents that subdivided the mesmerism of the time. In a second moment, we will analyze the reception and circulation of these doctrines in Portugal, measuring the impact of Faria’s work in Portugal. We will highlight the authors involved in the process, the intellectual debates and the institutional positions that were raised then.
