Shelley, Julie Derden, Sally Gibson","doi":"10.26443/el.v41i0.350","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.26443/el.v41i0.350","url":null,"abstract":"In this project, co-investigators explored how college and university curriculum centers are addressing challenges with K-12 electronic textbooks (particularly acquisition, cataloging, and access) and implementing technology-focused services for pre-service teachers. The results of this research have provided guidance for planning the future of the curriculum center in Milner Library at Illinois State University, which comprises 2.5% of the library’s holdings and accounts for almost 25% of the library’s circulation. However, there is a lack of research on how pre-service schools are preparing their students to become these leaders. The following article proposes research that would examine current school librarian preparation program syllabi for technology leadership theories and concepts. While Native American students remain a minority in schools, accurate information is vital for understanding contemporary society and our history by both Native and non-Native students. Many states including Washington State are creating tribal sovereignty curriculum and adding tribal perspectives to their state curriculum. After summarizing the significance, goals, learning objectives, and program models of cultural immersion, this paper discusses the principles of selecting multicultural materials, cultural immersion information, and practical tips on designing and maintaining web-based sources.
