Community-led investigations have now revealed an early medieval cemetery, sophisticated craftworking of international importance and early structures around the island’s parish church. Here, the authors present the results of a large-scale quantitative analysis of amphora frequency data from 254 excavations conducted across the Western Roman provinces. Yet, recent investigations at Cave 19 on the western face of Cerro Delgado provide evidence of continued ritual use into the fourth–sixth centuries AD. Here, the authors examine three painted glyphic compounds, identifiable as part of the Teotihuacan writing system, associated with a fire-blackened shelf arguably used for pyrolytic rites. While similar bars are generally attributed to the Early Iron Age (eighth–fifth centuries BC), the authors here argue that the Deinham bars are a new variant, radiocarbon dated to the Late Iron Age (fourth–first centuries BC). Here, the authors report on archaeoentomological analyses conducted within the Cruz de la Esquina funerary cave (Acusa Seca, Gran Canaria, c . seventh–ninth centuries AD), offering insights into Indigenous practices. Such is the case at the Wielbark culture cemetery in Czarnówko, northern Poland, where four graves were found to contain compacted layers of organic material.
