This is perhaps surprising considering the high quality of clinical research in the UK, which is second only to that in the USA. However, the number of clinical academics continues to fall and action is urgently needed if academic medicine is to have a future in the UK. In this article, the authors summarize an initiative taken by the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges, with support from the AMS.","PeriodicalId":79637,"journal":{"name":"Hospital medicine (London, England : 1998)","volume":"66 4","pages":"198-9"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2005-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.12968/hmed.2005.66.4.18434","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"25106232","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
