AbdelkarimI.M.El, Sayed","doi":"10.21608/assjm.2023.298187","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/assjm.2023.298187","url":null,"abstract":"A total number of 27 mature Ossimi ewes divided into three groups (9 ewes/each). The 1 st group, which served as control (C), was treated with distilled water (10 mL/kg B.W. /day), the 2 nd group treated with selenium nanoparticles (SeNPs 1 mg/kg B.W. /day), and the 3 rd group treated with L-Carnitine (L-Car 350 mg/Kg/day). Data revealed that the hematological parameters hematocrit (HCt) had significant differences ( at 90 days of pregnancy, P = 0.0299 ) and mean cell volume (MCV) showed significant differences (at days 45 and 90, P = 0.0014 and P = 0.0580, respectively). Triglyceride (TG) levels changed significantly at 45, 90, and 150 days of pregnancy; total cholesterol levels changed significantly at 150 days; low-density lipoprotein (LDL) levels changed at 45 and 90 days of pregnancy; and high-density lipoprotein (HDL) levels changed at 45 and 90 days of pregnancy. AST and ALT decreased due to the treatment with SeNPs and L-Carnitine (L-Car) during 45, 90, and 150 days of pregnancy, while ALT decreased during 90 and 150 days of pregnancy due to the treatment with SeNPs and L-Car compared with the control group. The urea concentration showed a significant decrease due to the treatments during 90, and 150 days of pregnancy, and the creatinine concentration significantly decreased at 90 days of pregnancy. Furthermore, data showed significant decreases in oxidized glutathione (at days 90 and 150, P = 0.0001) and nitric oxide (at days 45 and 150) due to the treatment with SeNPs and L-Car. It was found that there was a significant improvement in blood serum ATP and an increase in reduced glutathione and superoxide dismutase due to LC and SeNPs treatment during different pregnancy periods. Hence, SeNPs and L-Car administration improved different biochemical and hematological parameters and serum antioxidant activities for Ossimi ewes during different periods of pregnancy.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"9 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89516575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Eighteen combination treatments consist of three irrigation levels of 100, 75 and 50% ETc, two mulching types viz, black polyethylene and rice straw beside bare soil as control; and spraying with two kaolin concentrations 0.0 and 3% were arranged in a randomized complete block design with three replicates. Results indicated that irrigation levels at 100 and 75% ETc significantly enhanced and increased fruit set %, yield kg/tree or ton/feddan, fruit quality, yield efficiency kg/m 3 of canopy volume, water use efficiency kg/m 3 water and reduce fruit drop %. In addition, soil mulching with black polyethylene or rice straw was significantly increased all studied parameters compared to bare soil. Moreover, foliar application of kaolin at 3% was more effective in most cases compared to spraying with tap water. Overall, the combination of irrigation at 75% ETc with black polyethylene or rice straw mulch combined with spraying kaolin at 3% showed the best results of fruit set, less fruit drop, total yield, and fruit quality and increased water use efficiency. Furthermore, this combination saved about 25% of the total used water without negative effect on tree yield and fruit quality.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"67 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81139975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this study, the microbiological quality of foods (bread, cooked chicken, cooked meat, cooked rice, cooked macaroni, cooked vegetable, cooked legumes, feta cheese, boiled eggs, processed cheese, and jam) was assessed at the Benha University campus. A total of three random samples of breakfast, lunch and dinner samples were collected from the campus student’s restaurant after cooking. The result obtained revealed that the mean bacterial count from the breakfast meal sample was 6.9×10 3 cfu/g on bread and 3×10 cfu/g on biscuits, while lunch meal total bacterial count ranged between 2.9×10 2 and 8.5×10 4 cfu/g. On the other hand dinner meal, the total bacterial count ranged between 3.5×10 2 and 8.1×10 4 cfu/g. Pathogenic bacteria in breakfast, lunch and dinner meals were not detected for coliform group and Salmonella sp. counts. While Staph. aureus was a little count for breakfast lunch and dinner meals. This means that food items in this study were carried out under sanitary conditions with very good food hygiene. This study recommended that food handlers should ensure strict personal hygiene and that of the environment, and the general sanitary condition of the university hostel restaurant should be improved.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"34 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83002095","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Tests on soil in laboratory are dealt with in different ways to develop analyses. Some of them deal with engineering properties, like shear strength, soil composition and structure. Soil composition is different from other materials. Soil consists of three phases: solid, liquid, and gaseous. There are special diagrams for expressing particle size distribution (Cu), uniformity coefficient (Cc) and coefficient of gradation (Gc). A real soil rarely contains similar-size particles only, but different sizes are mixed together. For any soil, there is a rather flat zone in the size distribution curve. For example, by the particle size distribution curve (D 10 ). Such soils are described as gap-graded because they are missing particles in a certain size range. Gap-graded soils are sometimes considered a type of poorly graded soil. Aggregates used to make concrete are typically gap-graded soils.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"99 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135529069","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
