{"title":"Genotype - Environment Interaction for Grain Yield In Wheat","authors":"N. Ali","doi":"10.21608/assjm.2022.275849","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/assjm.2022.275849","url":null,"abstract":"Three field experiments were carried out at the Experimental Farm Station of the Faculty of Agriculture Moshtohor, Benha University, Kalubia Gavernorate, Egypt, during two successive winter seasons of 2017/2018 and 2018/2019 to investigate the effect of some folair application materials: [ascorbic acid (ASA) and potassium (K) on and genetic stability of wheat plants grown under different water stress levels. The treatments included the combination between three water treatments and 4 treatments of folair application spray with control. The treatments were arranged in split-split plot design with three replicates, the main plots were assigned to water stress levels, while five treatments of folair application spray were located in subplots and six varieties were arranged in sub-sub plot. Stability analysis of the 6 wheat genotypes was carried out for grain yield/plant across all studied environments. The effect of the interaction becomes more complex with the increase of number of factors with the same magnitude that have impact on genotype. Very often one prevalent environmental factor influences the genotype. In such cases linear regression models can comprise a good part of the sum of squares of the interaction and thus explain the stability of the genotype. With regard to AMMI analysis of grain yield/ m 2 , Results showed highly significant due to treatments, genotypes and environments this pointed out that all sources of variance are important in analysis, however genotypes contributed with (5.77%) in treatments variances, the environment contributed with (89.63%) in treatments variance also interaction principal component axis (IPCA) Pc1 and Pc2 accounted for (39.36% and 28.62%) respectively, were found to be highly significant, the (IPCA1 and IPCA2) together with had a total (67.98%) variances of the interaction. The genotype G5 is suitable to E3, E5, E11, E23 and E29. The genotype G6 is suitable to E12, E14 and E26. The polygon reflects that G2, G1 and G3 are high grain yielding and suitable to either of the environments. An important feature of the AMMI was also predicted. In mega-environment identification process, furthest genotypes are connected together to form a polygon, and perpendicular genotypes are drawn to form sectors which will make it easy to visualize the mega-environments.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88468500","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The trial included the 13 parents, 30 top crosses, along with the check hybrids SC 168. The experiment was conducted at two planting dates on 24 May and 14 June 2021 at the Agric. Res. and Experimental Station of the Fac. of Agric., Moshtohor Benha University. The experimental design was randomized complete blocks with three replications. Mean squares due to crosses (C) inbred lines (L), testers (T) and line x tester (LxT) were significant for most studied traits of both sowing dates as well as for the combined analysis. Significance of interaction variance for C, L, T and LxT with sowing dates for the most studied traits was detected. δ 2SCA played the major role in determining the inheritance of all traits, revealing that the largest part of the total genetic variability associated with these traits was a result of non- additive gene action. The magnitude of the interaction of δ 2 SCA x sowing date (SD) was generally higher than for δ 2 GCA x SD. This finding indicates that non-additive type of gene action is more affected by SD than additive and additive x additive types of gene action. The cross L3xT10 was the earlier hybrid since it expressed the lowest values for days to 50% pollen shed (59.58), days to 50% silking (60.5) and days to maturity (91.33). The top crosses L4xT2, and L7xT1 in early sowing date, L1xT1, L2xT1, L3xT1, L2xT2, , L1xT3, , L2xT2, , L3xT1, , L3xT2, , L3xT3, , L5xT1, , L5xT2, , L6xT1, L6xT3, L7xT1, L8xT1, L9xT3 and L10xT2 in late sowing date and L3xT1, L4xT2, L7xT1, and L10xT2 in the combined across sowing date differed significantly from the check SC 168.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90372357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

{"title":"Effect of Different Barley Leaves Extracts On Blood Lipid Profiles in High Fat Diet of Experimental Rats","authors":"Farhat Fouda","doi":"10.21608/assjm.2022.263827","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.21608/assjm.2022.263827","url":null,"abstract":"The present study aimed to investigate the phytochemicals constituent of water and ethanolic extracts of barley leaves at 15 and 20 day old sprout. Also, evaluated the protective effect of these extracts against the blood lipid profile levels in high fat diet (HFD) of experimental rats. Finally, histopathological evaluation of liver and kidney were performed. The phenolic compounds content in barley leaves aged 15 th day of germinated were found to be 5425.4 and 7237.6 mg GAE/100 g, for both water and ethanol extracts while, in barley leaves aged 20 th day of germinated of water and ethanol extracts were 5960.4, 8792 mg GAE/100 g. However, total flavonoids (TF) of both water and ethanol extracts of barley leaves aged 15 th and 20 th day of germinated were found to be (83.82 and 145.2 mg QE/100 g) and (167.9 and 191.8 mg QE/100 g) of DW, respectively. While, the antioxidant activity in the germinated barley for both water and ethanol extracts aged15 th day showed 55.68 and 67.16% for (DPPH) and were found to be 77.68, 42.21% for (ABTS). However, barley leaves both water and ethanol extracts aged 20 th day of germinated were 65.66 and 68.84% for (DPPH) and for (ABTS) were 79.33 and 52.30 %, respectively. Total carotenoids content were found to be (0.064, 0.072, 0.185 and 0.134 mg/100 g) but β-glucan contents were found to be (9.16, 5.47, 1.89 and 1.2 μg/mL) for water and ethanol extracts of barley leaves aged 15th and 20 th day of germination, respectively . sixity rats used for Biological Experiment to study the effect of different barley leaves extracts on lipid profiles in HFD. From the obtained results, it could be seen that the serum TG, TC, LDL-C, VLDL-C, and risk factor had a significant reduced in all HFD groups treated with different extracts of barley leaves when compared with positive control . Also, both water and ethanol extracts of barley leaves extracts were found to be improved in serum ALT and AST of experimental rats .In addition the treated and protected rats with barley leaves extract groups showed a significant decrease in urea, creatinine and uric acid levels when compared to hyperlipidemic group. Histopathological variation observed in liver and kidney tissue of high fat groups when treated with barley leaves extracts showed improved their tissues. Finally, it could be concluded that barley green leaves extracts (ethanol and water) can be used as a lowering hyperlipidemic rats subsequently prevent from heart diseases caused by arteriosclerosis. Moreover, this extracts might be improve liver and kidney function.","PeriodicalId":7920,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Agricultural Science, Moshtohor","volume":"33 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-09-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80428179","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
