Waves of scholarly work, as well as novels and films, have emerged in response. Catherine Malabou, with her focus on work, time, and death, has so far been absent from these conversations. While exploring these problems in Malabou’s writing, this article considers their resonance in the worker-suicide film Corporate (2017). Malabou’s transdisciplinary philosophy of plasticity observes the mutability and transformability of all forms, from aesthetic forms to the neuroplastic form of the human brain. By contrast, Bataille’s informe implies that the universe is radically formless and that all attempts to give form to it are doomed. Through the lens of art, Catherine Malabou’s concept of plasticity is aligned with Slavoj Žižek’s notion of the symptom. First, Žižek’s critical reading of Malabou is used as the basis for a symptomatic interpretation of plasticity. A reversal of this perspective—reading Žižek back through Malabou—then allows for a plastic reading of the symptom, which is finally extended into an analysis of AI. À la lumière de ses diverses interventions philosophiques, on cherche à mettre en évidence toute l’importance des arts dans l’avènement des formes de fuite dans nos sociétés. La notion de l’ontologie de l’accident dans le cadre de la catastrophe écologique à venir nous offre également la possibilité de réfléchir à l’évolution d’une pensée multi-spéciste dans les arts. Le choc ontologique chez Malabou est mis en rapport avec la notion du style tardif dans les écrits d’Edward Saïd pour aboutir à une lecture de la fin de vie des artistes. Sont entre autres discutés le rapport de la mimèsis à la plasticité et la création de concepts, à la contingence et la narrativité, au transhumanisme et la notion d’accomplissement, au savoir artificiel et l’inimitable, à la représentation et le sujet, à l’anarchisme et la technologie, à la blockchain et le métavers. Évoquant Aristote, Kant, Ricœur, Lyotard, Derrida, Lacoue-Labarthe, c’est tout une histoire de la mimèsis qui se trouve ainsi réactivée pour interroger l’intelligence artificielle à l’ère des réseaux informatiques décentralisés. C’est un fait indéniable que toute philosophie désigne un point de fuite, une extrémité où elle se perd elle-même. À l’inverse, il ne faut rien demander à l’art car cela reviendrait à le réintégrer dans la philosophie.
