Substantial concurrent validity and interscorer and test-retest reliability coefficients were obtained. An attempt to use the scoring system to predict perseverance in the seminary was generally unsuccessful. Subtests were established to measure six variables: attitudes toward self, priesthood, family, women, others, and important issues. Significant concurrent validity coefficients were established for each attitude category and inter-subtest correlations were low to moderate. The test shows promise as an instrument to screen seminarians in need of counseling and to point out specific areas of conflict for those students.","PeriodicalId":78361,"journal":{"name":"Journal of projective techniques & personality assessment","volume":"33 6","pages":"507-12"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1969-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/0091651X.1969.10380180","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"16444829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this presentation was to examine, refine and expand the existing principles of interpretation of the Rorschach as they relate to the love and aggressive affect of an individual. The interpretations were based on both formal and content analysis of the protocols and results were representative of a technique demanding more rigorous and extended enquiry into the vicissitudes of love and aggression.","PeriodicalId":78361,"journal":{"name":"Journal of projective techniques & personality assessment","volume":"33 6","pages":"526-9"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1969-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/0091651X.1969.10380183","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"16444831","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Barrier and penetration scores in the Rorschach were compared with ratings of outer and inner control. A positive significant relationship was found between barrier and outer control and a negative significant relationship was found between penetration and inner control. It is indicated that in this population a combination of high barrier and low penetration is associated with good psychological control while a combination of low barrier and high penetration is associated with poor psychological control. A combination of high barrier and high penetration is associated with poor inner control and a combination of low barrier and low penetration is associated with poor outer control.","PeriodicalId":78361,"journal":{"name":"Journal of projective techniques & personality assessment","volume":"33 6","pages":"493-500"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1969-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/0091651X.1969.10380178","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"16444827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The family consisted of twenty-one year old male twins, their mother, and maternal aunt. Protocols reveal the family is divided into two subgroups, with the mother and one twin playing the passive, dependent, submissive roles; the aunt and the other twin playing the active, independent, aggressive roles. The results are interpreted as supporting the view that family themes may be transmitted from generation to generation to form the basis for individual character structure and types of perception.","PeriodicalId":78361,"journal":{"name":"Journal of projective techniques & personality assessment","volume":"33 6","pages":"542-8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1969-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/0091651X.1969.10380187","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"15995229","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In terms of the sequence of action and feeling, women show a movement from more negative emotion and experience (“deprivation”) to more positive emotion and experience (“enhancement”), while with men the pattern is reversed. An investigation of some of the correlates of these patterns suggests that they reflect specific sex role tensions, and that experience with peers in preadolescence and early adolescence is a crucial factor.","PeriodicalId":78361,"journal":{"name":"Journal of projective techniques & personality assessment","volume":"33 1","pages":"464-469"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1969-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://sci-hub-pdf.com/10.1080/0091651X.1969.10120617","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"59007704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Twenty-three employed male subjects saw four films in sessions at one week intervals, as part of a study of the relation between pre-sleep experiences and dream content. Independent measures indicated that the two films designated as stressful aroused anxiety whereas the two neutral films did not.
