Métodos: Estudo transversal com 156 ACS vinculados à atenção básica da zona urbana de Vitória da Conquista (BA). Realizou-se a coleta de dados através de um formulário abrangendo os conhecimentos dos ACS sobre o TD. Os dados foram tabulados e analisados através do SPSS, obtendo-se frequências absolutas e relativas. Resultados: Os ACS participaram do curso introdutório (86,5%), porém o TD não foi abordado (73,1%). Quanto a atitude dos ACS frente ao TD, 81,4% afirmaram que não utilizam nenhum protocolo de atendimento. Em casos de avulsão, 76,3% afirmaram que somente o CD poderia realizar o reimplante dentário, sendo a orientação armazenar o dente em água filtrada e fervida (25%). Quanto as fraturas, 5,8% acreditam que o fragmento dentário não teria mais utilidade.  98,1% dos ACS acham importante ter os conhecimentos sobre o TD para orientar a população. Métodos: Trata-se de investigação de corte transversal, descritiva e analítica com coleta de dados através de formulário de pesquisa com questões objetivas e linguagem clara. Os dados foram tabulados e analisados através do Bioestat 5.3, obtendo-se frequências absolutas e relativas. Resultados: Foram predominantes os questionários respondidos na Associação dos Pais e Amigos dos Excepcionais (84,6%), gênero feminino 95,4%, 81,5% eram pais dos atendidos, com renda mensal de um salário mínimo (56,9%). Em relação à qualidade da saúde bucal, 43% responderam regular, 58,5% disseram que placa bacteriana é uma camada formada sobre os dentes, que a cárie é causada pela ação de bactérias que produzem ácidos 46,2% e 98,5% afirmaram que a saúde bucal reflete na saúde geral. Dos entrevistados 38,5% realizam a higiene bucal 3 vezes ao dia. Sobre a existência de materiais e técnicas eficientes para os Pacientes com Necessidades Especiais 52,4% acreditam que existam e 67,7% disseram não conhecer, 43,1% dos cuidadores relataram ser fácil abrir e manter a boca aberta durante a higienização e 75,4% não conhecem e não fazem uso de abridores de boca, 84,6% fazem uso de escova comum e 78,5% não usam de fio dental Conclusão: A maioria dos cuidadores de Pacientes com Necessidades Especiais não detém conhecimentos suficientes sobre técnicas e materiais apropriados para higienização da cavidade bucal, o que pode comprometer na promoção da saúde geral desses indivíduos.","PeriodicalId":77785,"journal":{"name":"Revista da Faculdade de Odontologia de Lins","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-06-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46530867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They are not usually observed in maxillofacial areas and are often associated with vascular malformations. Plain radiographs, such as panoramic radiograph, can be a useful tool to detect phleboliths.Case report: In this report, we describe three cases of phleboliths, found in routine radiographs, emphasizing radiographic features in conventional imaging. When evaluating multiple radiopaque structures randomly distributed in plain radiographs, dental practitioners should consider the presence of a phlebolith, particularly when laminations can be observed. A proteção pulpar tem como objetivo à manutenção da vitalidade pulpar impedindo a necessidade de uma terapêutica mais radical. O Agregado Trióxido Mineral (MTA) apresenta propriedades favoráveis, como atividade antimicrobiana e alta biocompatibilidade. Objetivo: Apresentar um caso em que esta terapia foi corretamente indicada e rigorosamente acompanhado por 10, 30 e 60 dias por meio das características clínicas e radiográficas. Caso clínico: Após exame clínico foi realizada a remoção da restauração presente e do tecido cariado, proteção do complexo dentino-pulpar e restauração com resina composta. Thus, oral hygiene was evaluated in a study conducted on 336 1st-year students enrolled in the Pharmacy and Dentistry Course of Ribeirão Preto, USP. The results showed that 42% of the students consult a dentist twice a year; the frequency of tooth brushing was four times a day, with no difference between the use of soft (48%) and medium (49%) brushes, and brushing time was 1 to 5 min. The students use dental floss (87%) and rinse their mouth with Cepacol (37%), and females brush their tongue at higher frequency (70%). Taste anomalies may affect health not only by directly affecting liquid and solid food intake, but also by creating a state of depression due to the loss of an important source of pleasure. Many factors alter taste perception, such as lesions of the oral mucosa, cigarette smoking, radiation, chemotherapy, renal disease, hepatitis, leprosy, hormones, nutrition, use of dentures, medications, and aging. Gum or ice chewing may temporarily help loss of taste. Patients should be encouraged to chew their food thoroughly, alternating the sides of the mouth, or alternating different foods. This review shows a consensus among the various authors that the restoration depends on: the dental structure which remains, the position of the tooth in the arch, and whether or not it has been used as a support for fixed or removable partial prosthesis. When the remaining dental structure is sufficient, the tooth can be restored, aesthetically and functionally in the usual way. If the structure is inadequate it will be necessary to reinforce the crown with the help of intra-crown pins, that can be of amalgam or pre-fabricated metal, after which the crown can be reconstructed with amalgam or cast restoration metal. If the tooth to be restored has been used as a support for partial prosthesis or is located in the arch where horizontal forces are present, an intra-root reinforcement with metallic pins will be necessary. These pins can be cast or pre-fabricated and crown core. In a period of ten years the relation patient/dentistry student was an average of 23.08. Of the procedures, 69.9 per cent were amalgam restaurations and 30.1 per cent with silicate cement or resin. This is an important extracurricular activity for the student, in the sense that it helps improve his techniques. On the other hand, although restricted in time, this work has been important for the oral health of the community.
