Other types of 5-HT agonists, such as 8-hydroxy-2-(di-n-propylamino) tetralin (8-OH-DPAT, 5-HT1 agonist) of 2-methyl-5-HT (2-Me-5-HT, 5-HT3 agonist) cause no obvious contraction in the preparation. The concentration-response curve of 5-HT was inhibited by the 5-HT2 antagonists, ketanserin, ritanserin, LY53857 and 1-(3-chlorophenyl) piperazine (mCPP) in a concentrationdependent manner, while the maximum response of 5-HT was reduced by them. These results suggest that 5-HT-induced contraction may be mediated through an action on 5-HT2-like receptors, and that the receptors mediating the responses of 5-HT in hilar bronchus are different from those in other tissues in their pharmacological profile.","PeriodicalId":77624,"journal":{"name":"Showa Shigakkai zasshi = The Journal of Showa University Dental Society","volume":"19 1","pages":"25-30"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1999-03-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64476053","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ratios of HAP to CHP in the commercial dentifrices were [0.22 to 0.78], [0.23 to 0.77], [0.25 to 0.75], and [0.47 to 0.53], respectively. From our previous in-vitro studies on brushing of human enamel with commercial dentifrices containing HAP and CHP [0.23 to 0.77], and containing CHP but no HAP [0 to 1.00], we suggest that a larger amount of HAP in dentifrice shows a stronger abrasivity, though the HAP is indicated as an active ingredient not but an abrasive.","PeriodicalId":77624,"journal":{"name":"Showa Shigakkai zasshi = The Journal of Showa University Dental Society","volume":"18 1","pages":"229-233"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1998-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64476023","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Muscle/periosteal flaps were raised, and 4.5-mm osseous defects were created bilaterally in the tibiae of ten rabbits. On the test side, a silicone membrane was placed over the defect, and the flaps were sutured outside the membrane. The defect on the contralateral side served as a control (no membrane). After healing periods of 1, 2, 4 and 8 weeks the animals were killed, and 15 pm hematoxylin-eosin-stained, undecalcified sections were prepared and examined histologically. The results suggest that the subperiosteal membrane keeps the osteogenic tissue structurally stable so that osteogenesis remains functionally stable during the early stages of healing.","PeriodicalId":77624,"journal":{"name":"Showa Shigakkai zasshi = The Journal of Showa University Dental Society","volume":"18 1","pages":"214-218"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1998-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"64475920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
