As a sequence of his investigations that established a clear distinction between hardness and bacterial invasion of dentin, Fusayama searched for a simple clinical method that could avoid excessive removal of remineralizable dentin. The use of \"Caries Detector\" may provide in few minutes an immediate clinical distinction between \"infected dentin\" and \"remineralizable dentin\", by the direct application of a selective dye. This has the potential for reducing the overall resistance of the tooth and puts the tooth at risk for fracture in the future. In this paper the pertinent scientific literature is reviewed and various techniques of evaluating the resistance of teeth to fracture are discussed in comparison to a new method developed at the University of Minnesota. A review of the recent literature concerning classification, clinical findings, pathology and treatment of this entity has been evaluated. Hemimandibulectomy was carried out. Filamentous protein structures with a diameter between that of microtubules and microfilaments have recently been described with the name of intermediate filaments. These structures play an important role in certain cellular functions such as cytokinesis and chromosome movements during cell division. The immunohistochemical expression of these filaments in tumoral disease is identical to that seen in normal cells of the type the tumor arises in.
