Özkay","doi":"10.18036/BTDC.55893","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18036/BTDC.55893","url":null,"abstract":"In this study, three different 9-Substituted phenantrene derivatives that were synthesized to be used as basic matter for drugs were tested for their mutagenic potency in strains TA 98 and TA 100 of Salmonella typhimurium by using Ames test. Therefore, both strains were tested in the absence or presence of S9 metabolic activation, for five different doses of each test substances in two paralel independent experiments. In the absence of metabolic activation, while only one of the compounds were causing frame-shift mutations, two of them were determined to induce base pair substitution mutations. In the presence of metabolic activation, while two of the compounds were mutagenic for TA 98, base pair substitution mutations were not detected for any of the substances. Emre","doi":"10.18036/BTDC.40312","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18036/BTDC.40312","url":null,"abstract":"Bioaccumulation of copper, zinc, manganese, iron and magnesium which generaly result from agricultural activities was determined in muscle, skin and gills of some economically important sea fish (Diplodus sargus, Siganus rivulatus, Lithognathus mormyrus, Liza aurata, Chelon labrasus) from the western shores of Antalya, intensive agricultural regions. The minimum and maximum levels of investigated elements (mg kg-1 wet weight) in tissues of the fish varied from 0.54 to1.69 for copper; from 4.14 to 407.23 for zinc from 0.15 to 9.17 for mangan; from 3.45 to104.49 for iron; and from 204.33 to 784.30 for magnesium. While the lowest levels of elements were determined in the muscle, the highest levels (except copper) were encountered in the gills. According to Davis's grid system, the research area lies in B3 square. The plant samples collected in this region and determined that there are 59 families, as well as 467 species and subspecies taxa belonging to 219 genera. The phytogeographical distribution is as follows: 49 Mediterranean, 31 Euro-Siberian, 19 Irano- Turanian, 6 Euxin and 362 unknown or other-regional elements. The largest families are Asteraceae (50), Fabaceae (38), Lamiaceae (24), Poaceae (21) and Liliaceae (18) in terms of the number of species and subspecies included. Genera represented by the highest number of species are Centaurea (7), Alyssum (6), Silene, Astragalus, Trifolium, Lathyrus ve Campanula (5) . Bu durum, cevre ve insan sagligi ile ilgili telafisi zor olan bir surecin baslangicini olusturmaktadir. Bu nedenle gerek kirlenmis alanlarin temizlenmesinde ve gerekse kirletici potansiyeli olan teknolojilerin biyolojik yaklasimlarla butunlestirilmesi ile tekstil endustrisinin bir atigi olan boyarmaddelerin olusturacagi kirlilik azaltilabilecektir. Bu calisma kapsaminda ticari olarak piyasada satilan bir kot boyasinin Trametes versicolor ATCC 200801’in bugday kepegi iceren potato dekstroz broth besiyerinde gelistirilmesi ile elde edilen lakkaz aktivitesi yuksek kultur sivisi ile renk giderimi calisilmis ve optimum kosullar belirlenmistir. Yapilan deneyler sonucunda pH 4.0, baslangic boya konsantrasyonu 75 mg/l, sicaklik 55 oC, inkubasyon suresi ise 120 dakika olarak secilmistir. Belirlenen optimum kosullarda % 68.02 renk giderimi elde edilmistir. Bununla birlikte, boya cozeltisi icerisine tekstil atik sularinda bulunabilecek cesitli metal iyonlari ve kumas boyama isleminde kullanilan yardimci kimyasal maddeler reaksiyon ortamina ilave edilerek, gelistirilmeye calisilan renk giderim potansiyeli uzerine olasi etkileri arastirilmistir. Elde edilen veriler degerlendirildiginde, belirlenen optimum kosullarda denenen kirleticilerin renk giderimini genel olarak olumsuz yonde etkilemedigi gorulmektedir. Kinaci","doi":"10.18036/btdc.77304","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18036/btdc.77304","url":null,"abstract":"This research was conducted to compare agronomic characters of four triticale lines and three triticale cultivars suitable to irrigated conditions and six triticale lines and three triticale cultivars suitable rain-fed (non-irrigated) conditions in Eskisehir during 2006-2007 growing period. The experiment was conducted in randomized block design with four replications under irrigated and nonirrigated conditions. Statistically significant differences were found between lines and cultivars for all characters except for harvest index. Results are indicated that there are variations for the investigated characters. This may means that all lines can be use for breeding programs as gene sources.
