Some 9 per cent of these patients were found to have a significant degree of aniseikonia. Symptoms of aniseikonia were found to be less common than suggested in the literature; these are limited to 3.6 per cent of the patients surveyed and are absent where the degree of aniseikonia is less than 2 per cent. It is concluded that since the number of patients having a significant degree of aniseikonia is as great as 9 per cent and that the empirical estimation of aniseikonia is unreliable, it is desirable to include eikonometry into the clinical refraction routine.</p>","PeriodicalId":76613,"journal":{"name":"The British journal of physiological optics","volume":"29 3","pages":"126-9"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1974-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"15575192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
