Voluntary activity provides positive emotion (higher score of self-esteem) and midterm examination provides high level stress to students. Emotion and stress affect immune system. Seventy-five and seventy-eight subjects were assigned to voluntary activity and mid-term examination group. In analyzing data, paired and unpaired t-tests and ANCOVA were used. The results were as following: 1.1 Self-esteem of after-voluntary activity was increased significantly than before-voluntary activity. 1.2 Health-promoting lifestyle of after-voluntary activity was not increased significantly than before-voluntary activity. 1.3 Immunoglobulin of after-voluntary activity was not increased significantly than before-voluntary activity. 2.1 Self-esteem of after-mid-term examination was not decreased significantly than before-mid-term examination. 2.2 Health-promoting lifestyle of after-mid-term examination was decreased significantly than before-mid-term examination. 2.3 Immunoglobulin of after-mid-term examination was not decreased significantly than before-mid-term examination. 3.1 Self-esteem of voluntary activity group and mid-term examination group was not different significantly. 3.2 Health-promoting lifestyle of voluntary activity group and midterm examination group was different significantly. 3.3 Immunoglobulin of voluntary activity group and mid-term examination group was not different significantly.","PeriodicalId":76576,"journal":{"name":"Taehan kanho. So knowledge and practice of effective leadership behavior are now more essential to nursing than ever before. First-line Nurse Managers must be effective leaders to meet today's challenge because staff nurse, patient are affected by them. So the purpose of this study was to identify and to analyse the need for Leadership program of First Line nurse managers in university hospitals. There were three major purposes of this study. First, identify First-line nurse managers general characteristic, second, identify their experience of leadership training, third, identify and analysis their demands for leadership training program. The subjects for this study was 167 First-line nurse manager randomly from 18 university hospitals in Korea. The data were collected through questionnaires from Oct. 13th to Nov. 20th, 1997, data was analysed using frequencies and percentages. Especially the steps of analysis of descriptions were as follows: Initial analysis centered on the identification of the demands of first-line nurse managers. Later analysis collapsed the demands into broad categories. From the collect data, 283 demands of first-line nurse managers were identified. These demands were then sorted into 3 broad categories that included: Self development as first-line nurse managers, relationship with others, and practice The result of the study were as follows: 1) Most of nurse managers (79.6%) had leadership training course and had good experience to improve self leadership. 2) Their demands of leadership training course are as follows: First, for self as first-line nurse managers, they want to learn leadership theory, identify their leadership style and then develop their leadership skill. Second, for others as first-line nurse managers, they want to improve their communication skill, empowering others, relationship with others. Third, for patients as first-line nurse managers, improve their knowledge of practice. From the above finding, this study can be suggested the following: 1. Develop a leadership training course to improve first-line nurse manager's leadership skill according to their demands, so they will be better able to lead staff nurses for organization purposes. 2. The sample of 250 male high school students out of two different schools in Tae-Jŏn was questioned from July 10th to 15th, 1995. In analyzing these date, the statistics shows the realities by means of number of students. The results are summarized into 17 items as follows. Regarding the level of smoking, 140 students out of 250 admit that they have ever smoked, 52.1% of smoking students say that the motivation of beginning smoking is mainly curiosity. The survey shows that 22.9% of smoking students feel very good when smoking. It also shows that 30.0% of smoking students began smoking in the first grade of high school. With regard to the volume of smoking per day, 41.4% of smoking students smoke variably, 42.1% drink when smoking, 15.0% spend more than W 70,000 a month. About the question who knows the fact of their smoking, 51.5% answer that their friends know the fact of their smoking. In regard to the reslationship between smoking and school performance, 18.2% of non smoking students make poor grades as compared with 40% of smoking students, 9.3% of smoking students say that they are satisfied with the school life, but 35.7% of them are not satisfied. Regarding the attitude to smoking teachers, 35% of smoking students state that they are affected by them. 69.3% of smoking students say that they will stop smoking, while the remaining 30.7% say that they will keep smoking. The reason of 63.9% to stop smoking is that smoking is bad for the health. The reason of 46.5% to keep smoking is the acquired habit of smoking. 97.2% know the fact that the major element of cigarettes is nicotine and it is very harmful to the health. 40.8% recognize the harmful effect of smoking by TV and radio programs. 97.2% know that smoking could cause lung cancer. From the above results. I propose as follows We should make specific plan to keep smoking by simple curiosity from being developed into habitual smoking. We should teach them how harmful smoking is and make them stop smoking by themselves. It is very essential for family members and teachers to give continuous interest since childhood. As the teacher affect the students very much, they should give up smoking first. The incidence of smoking should be identified in each of the middle and high schools, smoking prohibition programs relevant to each school should be developed and implemented. The local community should ban cigarette vending machines. Cigarettes should not be sold to adolescents. By setting every place where adolescents gather including schools non-smoking area, we should decrease their impulse to smoke, then smoking opportunities, and harmful effects to them caused by passive smoking.","PeriodicalId":76576,"journal":{"name":"Taehan kanho. Korean traditional non-professional postpartal care after delivery and abortion. A convenience sample of 308 women in 7 provinces in Korea including Seoul were studied from December, 1994 to December, 1996 for two years. Mean age of respondents was 50.5 years and mean number of children was 3. The rate of abortion was 91.5% and mean frequency was 2.2 times per woman. 82% of respondents did not have Sanhujori after abortion. The period and subjective evaluation of experience of Sanhujori after delivery were decreased according to the increment of the number of childbirth. The health status implies both subjective health status women perceived and physical symptom distress women are experiencing presently. The respondents expressed the physical symptom distress as painful one. 56.7% of respondents perceived unhealthy, such as sick and 99.6% complained more than one symptom. The factors related to health status were the first and third experience of Sanhujori after delivery, such as the period and subjective evaluation whether she did Sanhujori well or not; whether or not of Sanhujori after abortion and menopause; the number of child; and age, at the level of 1% or 5% of significance statistically. The factors related to the rate of physical symptom distress were only two: the first experience of Sanhujori after delivery, especially the subjective evaluation and whether women did Sanhujori after abortion or not, at the level of 1% or 5% of significance statistically. In conclusion, this finding reconfirmed the possible relationship between women's health status and the experience of Sanhujori after delivery & abortion. It provides a challenge to the professional care givers to research further on the effects of Sanhujori on the health status, health recovery after abortion or delivery from the various aspects through the cross-sectional and longitudinal research for the refinement of the reality of Sanhujori not only as cultural phenomenon but as conceptual model for the appropriateness of intervention and qualty of care for desirable health outcomes. Besides, it is indispensable to refine and reestablish postpartal caring system by finding universal law through international & cross-cultural research on postpartal traditional care for women's life long health toward the 21C.","PeriodicalId":76576,"journal":{"name":"Taehan kanho.
