Study was carried out in five wards: Benen Bayero, Karamar Tanda, Asibitin Agana, Goni Aji Street and Abdullahi Masaba Street. Questionnaires containing personal information, health status and household circumstances of respondents were distributed randomly (50 in each study area) for data collection. Kerosene is used in less than 5% of the households and charcoal was used in about a third of the household. Cooking outdoor is linked to coughing, burns, confusion, cataract, pneumonia and bronchitis among women, as well as several respiratory and eye related problems. Moreover, cataract and asthma were found to be more prevalent among women cooking indoors.","PeriodicalId":7436,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"16 1","pages":"92-95"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88791081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A program for testing clay raw materials is described, which should be developed in such a way as to obtain the most complete information about this clay, its composition, properties, behavior during technological processing: molding, drying and firing during research. And also an explanation is given about the measures necessary before the start of the tests, it is advisable to have information about the geological surveys of the field, about the previously conducted studies and, if the plant has already been built and operated, about the problems that do not allow the production of products of the required quality.","PeriodicalId":7436,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"445 1","pages":"190-195"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80122065","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the one hand, reduction is understood as a relationship between a term and its defining expression within a scientific theory, on the other hand, as a relationship between two theories. Since the expansion of the theory occurs due to the introduction of new terms into its vocabulary with the help of nominal definitions, reduction is an operation opposite to the definition: due to reduction, terms are removed from the dictionary of the theory. Moreover, the theory itself is defined in accordance with the set-theoretic approach as a class of sentences that are closed with respect to derivability. The novelty of the research lies in the fact that it examines the semantic and epistemological aspects of the formal definition of reduction. In particular, the explication of the reduction relation between the two theories is based on the concept of functional equivalence of theories. It has been established that the list of basic terms of the theory can only be specified conventionally. All terms introduced with the help of nominal definitions turn out to be reducible. Consequently, a distinctive feature of a theoretical term is the possibility of its reduction.","PeriodicalId":7436,"journal":{"name":"American Journal of Applied Sciences","volume":"34 1","pages":"123-131"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-31","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75647076","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
