The CuSO4 doped PVP based polymer solutions were prepared using a simple chemical route. Five different concentrations of CuSO4 were mixed with 3% PVP solution in the ratio of 90: 10 respectively. The electrical conductivity of all polymer solutions were measured at a temperature range of 283 K-333 K. The electrical conductivity increased significantly with increase in temperature and concentration of CuSO4.The optical absorption spectra of all polymer solutions were observed in the wavelength range of 300 nm-700 nm. The optical absorbance increased with an increase in the concentration of CuSO4 The direct and indirect band gaps decreased with the addition of CuSO4. Among the tested compounds, presence of additional thiazole/benzothiazole moieties in the molecule was found to inflict the bio-potential to a remarkable extent.
