The prevalence of the pathology in people under 40 years of age is 6% and 15-20% in the population over 65 years old.(1,2) Approximately 50% of the affected persons are, at the time of examination, asymptomatic.(3) The most important risk factors associated with this condition are smoking, diabetes mellitus (DM), high cholesterol and high blood pressure (HBP). The current study shows that, regardless of the association of risk factors or pre-hospital treatment, these patients do not benefit from a certain type of treatment (drug or interventional), which corresponds to the existing data in the literature, which do not document the choice of type of treatment depending on the patient’s age or comorbidities.","PeriodicalId":7091,"journal":{"name":"Acta Medica Transilvanica","volume":"25 1","pages":"31 - 34"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45617466","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The incidence is estimated at 12-15 new cases per 100.000 inhabitants per year. Intracranial haemorrhage is the third most frequent cause of stroke, the vast majority being represented by primary/hypertensive (spontaneous) intracerebral haemorrhage, ruptured saccular aneurysm, a vascular malformation or haemorrhage associated with the use of anticoagulants or thrombolytic agents. A cerebral tomography computer examination is the examination of choice in diagnosis of haemorrhagic CVAs. The treatment can be either therapeutic or surgical, depending on the case, with the consideration that an immediate medical treatment is mandatory for the best odds of recovery.(1)","PeriodicalId":7091,"journal":{"name":"Acta Medica Transilvanica","volume":"25 1","pages":"16 - 18"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47270204","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in mean platelet volume (MPV), platelet distribution width (PDW) and platelet-large cell ratio (P-LCR) in these patients. A number of 437 patients with stable coronary artery disease, 131 patients with non ST segment elevation acute coronary syndrome and 151 patients with ST segment elevation myocardial infarction were included in the study. There was no difference between the three groups regarding platelet indices prior to PCI. Follow-up data was available for 181 patients, at a mean follow-up time of 69 (46-98) days. MPV, PDW and PLC-R were similar to those prior to PCI in all three groups. Regarding the P2Y12 inhibitor, clopidogrel or ticagrelor, there was no difference at follow-up between platelet indices irrespective of the indication for PCI.","PeriodicalId":7091,"journal":{"name":"Acta Medica Transilvanica","volume":"25 1","pages":"35 - 37"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45610894","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The problem is related to its etiology: nervous or vascular, which requires different therapeutic solutions. Ischaemic etiology involves a deviation of the distal flow in the anastomosed vein, with the decrease of the distal flow and the installation of distal ischaemia. Nerve etiology involves compression of the median nerve in the carpal tunnel. The purpose of the paper is to present a case study of diagnosis and treatment of median nerve compression in hemodialysis patient.","PeriodicalId":7091,"journal":{"name":"Acta Medica Transilvanica","volume":"25 1","pages":"28 - 30"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43721136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The term “burn-out” is an occupational phenomenon, not a disease, and 25-60% of doctors in different specialties have the burn-out syndrome. The method was to complete a questionnaire-type test by 204 medical residents. The results shows us that 72.1% (147) of the respondents drinks coffee, 25.9% of them smokes cigarettes during hospital hours and 13.7% consumes energy drinks. Furthemore 5.9% drinks alcohol during shifts. Among of all, those who are consumers of at least one psychostimulant substance, the risk of them having at least one of the symptoms of burnout is 1.3 times higher than those who do not consume anything at work (RR-1.3453, p = 0.0152). Psychostimulant substances are consumed to improve the efficiency and resistance at work. It’s important to manage the time in order to avoid extreme fatigue and distress.","PeriodicalId":7091,"journal":{"name":"Acta Medica Transilvanica","volume":"25 1","pages":"6 - 8"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44613379","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Maintaining this position for a long period of time is a risk factor for health. The results of various studies have shown associations between maintaining a prolonged sitting position with morbidity due to chronic diseases, such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, obesity, etc. And, as we have already mentioned in the first part of this study, dental technicians are part of this category of staff, who carry out most of their specific activity, in a sitting position.","PeriodicalId":7091,"journal":{"name":"Acta Medica Transilvanica","volume":"25 1","pages":"66 - 69"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44004303","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Differential diagnosis between the pathologies establishes the correct treatment. The aim of our study is to present the management of the pathologies cured in our department. The longer the duration of vomiting symptoms the higher muscle thickness was shown. Dehydration and lethargy was associated with higher muscle thickness. There were no intraoperative or postoperative complications recorded in our cases. Ultrasonography is the gold standard in imaging technique but it requires an experienced radiologist. In case of negative physical examination and ultrasonography, but high suspicion of the diagnosis a fluoroscopy may be required.
