They are prone to different pathogens, highlighting parasites such as Haemonchus contortus . The prevailing climate and husbandry management practices are considered the main factors driving the spatial and temporal distribution of the nematode. Its distribution is worldwide, causing economic losses due to morbidity and mortality, and prevalence studies have been reported in different countries such as India, Spain, Nigeria, and Mexico; therefore, the objective of this study was to determine the edaphoclimatic factors of the different zones of the municipality of Culiacan and the production system that influence the prevalence of Haemonchus spp. in lambs. The research was carried out in the municipality of Culiacan, Sinaloa, Mexico, over a period of one year. It was an observational study, which included 23 sheep production units distributed in 10 districts of the municipality, with a total of 1520 samples of feces from animals under 3 months of age. The feces were processed individually by flotation technique. The overall prevalence was 13.42 %, and the autumn season (OR 2.38 (1.69-3.34) P<0.001), valley zone (OR 2.70 (1.21-6.02); P<0.016) and extensive system (OR 4.81 (3.38-6.85); P<0.0001) were risk factors associated with the presence of the nematode in lambs, so they should be considered for the establishment of preventive measures and control of parasitosis.","PeriodicalId":7052,"journal":{"name":"Abanico Veterinario","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47523579","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Heritability for BW in the GRO line was 0.05 ± 0.16 in the presence of WSD and 0.35 ± 0.15 in the absence, while for the RES line they were 0.26 ± 0.07 and 0.49 ± 0.08 in the presence and absence of WSD, respectively. Genetic correlations for BW between environments were -0.17 ± 0.60 for GRO and 0.89 ± 0.09 for RES. Heritability for survival in GRO was 0.01 in both environments and the genetic correlation was not estimable, whereas, for RES, the heritabilities were 0.06 ± 0.04 and 0.11 ± 0.06 in the absence and presence of WSD, respectively, additionally, the genetic correlation was not significant. Although the linear model suggests a genotype-by-environment interaction, the estimates propose independence of the same trait between environments, and the correlations between traits in the resistance line propose to independently select traits when WSD is present.","PeriodicalId":7052,"journal":{"name":"Abanico Veterinario","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43975292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study included 31,711 CC, 87,871 PL, 65,593 PG and 43,717 PP records. The CC were grouped into four general systems: structure and capacity (SEC), legs and hooves (SP), udder (SU) and haunch (SA). The effect of end point (FP) classes on PL, PG and PP levels was also evaluated through analysis of variance. HTPL had a correlation of 0.28 with SU, 0.17 with SA, 0.08 with SP and -0.05 with SEC (P<0.001). The correlations of HTPGK and HTPPK with the different systems were low, highlighting those found with SU, 0.15 and 0.21 (P<0.001), respectively. The phenotypic associations and correlations of genetic values reported in this study suggest that selection of cows by CC can modify milk, fat and protein production.","PeriodicalId":7052,"journal":{"name":"Abanico Veterinario","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.4,"publicationDate":"2021-01-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44151523","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
