Drawing on García and Wei's (2014) concept of translanguaging, it examines the extent to which translanguaging empowers learners to become proficient users of English as a Lingua Franca (ELF). The chapter describes a teacher-research study which comprised 14 interactive classroom activities analysed using Farrell's (2015) reflective practice framework. The findings revealed how translanguaging strategies supported meaning negotiation, but also how they created power imbalances among learners of different first languages. These impacted classroom dynamics and slowed down the learners' integration process. Based on these insights, the chapter calls for a cautious approach to translanguaging and its pedagogical applications to ensure that these complement, rather than hinder, migrant learners' social and communicative integration.","PeriodicalId":70420,"journal":{"name":"数字生活","volume":"1 1","pages":"249-286"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147920574","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Unlike traditional static models, HDT systems leverage cyber-physical integration via a bidirectional closed-loop between physical patients and their digital counterparts. AI systems process vast amounts of heterogeneous data from the “virtual” patient — electronic health records, genomics, radiomics, and wearable sensor outputs— to simulate and predict patient outcomes across multiple scales—from molecular interactions to population-wide health. Indeed, the current landscape of HDT applications spans key issues in patient-care and clinical trial optimization. Yet, technical, regulatory, and ethical challenges remain. This chapter explores the foundational concepts, technical frameworks, and current applications of digital twins, outlining both their transformative potential and the obstacles that must be navigated to fully realize their role in precision medicine.","PeriodicalId":70420,"journal":{"name":"数字生活","volume":"1 1","pages":"101-122"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147882588","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The world has learnt about messenger ribonucleic acids(mRNA) technology in the last two years, and in that time, it has shown how quickly it can respond to situations and have almost limitless potential for future uses in the treatment of cancer. The genetic instructions or recipe that guide cells on how to use their own machinery to build proteins are carried by a molecule called messenger RNA (mRNA). This study demonstrated how mRNA can be a powerful tool for developing vaccines and diseases treatments, allowing human cells to put forth a lot of effort in generating proteins that trigger an immune response that defends against illnesses and preserves human organs, marking significant milestone in science and demonstrating the adaptability and versatility of mRNA technology for known and unknown diseases treatments.","PeriodicalId":70420,"journal":{"name":"数字生活","volume":"1 1","pages":"125-144"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-04-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"147883676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
