Methods A prospective cohort, carried out in a reference hospital in neurology with 224 people with ischemic stroke. Data collection took place between March and October 2019. Participants were followed up during hospitalization, when sociodemographic and clinical variables were collected using specific instruments and contacted after 90 days, by telephone call, to apply the Modified Barthel Index. In the analysis, descriptive statistics and Pearson’s chi-square test were applied. Statistical significance of 5% was adopted. Results Most had some degree of functional disability (58.5%), with 29.5% having moderate dependence and 29.0% having severe dependence. The variables being female (p=0.011), time of arrival at the reference hospital greater than or equal to 4.5 hours (p=0.017), previous stroke (p=0.031), not having undergone thrombolysis (p=0.023), having high blood pressure (p=0.032) and greater severity estimated by the National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (p=0.000) were associated with a higher disability level. Conclusion Moderate to severe dependence predominated. The severity of the event, previous event, hypertension, non-submission to thrombolysis, delay in arriving at the hospital and female gender were associated with a higher functional disability level.","PeriodicalId":6891,"journal":{"name":"Acta Paulista De Enfermagem","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135168950","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods This is a methodological study, developed from May 2020 to September 2022 (in two stages), for checklist elaboration and validity. The Delphi technique was used, with assessment by an expert committee for content validity. To calculate the degree of agreement, the agreement rate and the Content Validity Index (CVI) were used. Results A checklist with 17 items that help organize hospital discharge was prepared and validated. The checklist was prepared based on the compilation of results obtained from interviews with multidisciplinary team professionals, who worked in inpatient units, an integrative review on transition of care at hospital discharge of adult patients and reading of articles on the use of discharge checklist. In the first stage of validity, a mean was obtained for the instrument’s agreement rate, scope (94%) and relevance (91%). At the end of the second round, the mean CVI calculation was obtained (clarity: 0.95; relevance: 0.96). Conclusion The checklist was validated as to its content by consensus by an expert committee, and can be used by care teams or hospital discharge management.","PeriodicalId":6891,"journal":{"name":"Acta Paulista De Enfermagem","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135169163","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods Cross-sectional study integrated into a prospective cohort, with collection between August 2021 and February 2022, based on the responses of 304 women who had pregnancies and/or deliveries during the pandemic period. Results Of the total, 25.7% of the interviewees had COVID-19, with a predominance of diagnoses in the third quarter. Complaints of anosmia, fatigue and headache prevailed as related to the infection. The variables using the Unified Health System for care (p = 0.084); gestational diabetes (p = 0.141); low birth weight (p = 0.117); need for admission to a neonatal unit (p = 0.120) were included in the regression model because they had p values lower than 0.20. The variable referring to the type of delivery (p=1.000) was inserted in the model because it is a variable of interest and with a description of relevance in the literature. Prematurity was the only variable that was statistically associated with SARS-CoV-2 infection during pregnancy (p = 0.008) in the bivariate analysis, explaining the outcome of infection during pregnancy (<0.001), confirmed in the Poisson Robust Regression model. Conclusion There was a high prevalence of COVID-19 in the sample, with varying symptoms and a predominance of operative deliveries. However, SARS-CoV-2 infection only explained the higher occurrence of premature births.","PeriodicalId":6891,"journal":{"name":"Acta Paulista De Enfermagem","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135169271","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods Cross-sectional and correlational research carried out in a tertiary university hospital in the state of São Paulo. A total of 260 mid-level nursing professionals (nursing technicians and assistants) participated, using self-administered instruments from May to August 2021. To verify the association between the scale classes and the explanatory variables, a chi-square or Fisher’s exact test was performed in the SAS program. Relationships were statistically significant if p<0.05. Results The profile of the participants was predominantly female, mean age 41.9 years, daytime workers, workload of 36.7 hours and satisfied with their work. The application of the Leader’s Empowering Behavior instrument showed that the domain with the highest average of empowering behavior was “meaningful work” and the one with the lowest average was “autonomy in relation to bureaucracy”. Nursing assistants and technicians who worked during the day did not have other work relationships and were satisfied with it, in addition to observing the leader’s empowering behavior more. Conclusion Nurses’ behavior to empower their team, from the perspective of technicians and nursing assistants in the studied hospital, was good in most domains, except in the domain “autonomy from bureaucracy”, where it was reasonable. Working the day shift, not having other jobs and being satisfied with the job were aspects of greater empowerment.","PeriodicalId":6891,"journal":{"name":"Acta Paulista De Enfermagem","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135169156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
