However, nowa-days these seeds have won an important highlight for human consumption due to their active ingredients that make them an excellent functional food. Thus, this study aimed to extract flaxseed oil, an oil rich in omega 3 and 6, characterize it by using nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) and Fouri-er-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and then encapsulate this oil in polycaprolactone (PCL) on the micro scale, using the nanoprecipitation technique and subsequently freeze-drying. To determine the mean diameter, the dynamic light scattering technique (DLS) was used, and to verify whether there was encapsulation, the pulse sequence MSE-FID, an NMR sequence in the time domain, was also used. In addition to the previously mentioned techniques, X-ray diffraction (XRD) was also employed. Flaxseed flour was also analyzed by time-domain NMR and FTIR. The results obtained by NMR show that the oil consists of fatty acid esters in the form of triglycerides in which there is the presence of esters of α-linolenic and linoleic acids, respectively ALA and LA, according to the literature. Regarding the material after encapsulation, it presented a mean diameter of 445.2 ± 41 nm and PDI of 0.674 ± 0.064, therefore classified as microparticles. In this study, the rela-tion between corrosion form and elution of copper in immersion tests by accelerated corrosion test solutions was examined. Generally, pitting corrosion that occurs in actual machines was reported to observe chloride ion at the bottom of the pitting corrosion of copper tubes. Energy dispersive X-ray (EDX) mapping analysis indicated that chlorine was concentrated in the upper layer of the samples where copper was not detected under conditions of low residual carbon amount, while chlorine was concentrated under part of the micromounds (including the bottom of the pits) under conditions of high residual carbon amount. D. de Araujo","doi":"10.4236/msa.2022.135017","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4236/msa.2022.135017","url":null,"abstract":"In this work wollastonite/tricalcium phosphate (W/TCP) glass-ceramics with three W/TCP weight ratios (20/80; 60/40 and 80/20) were implanted in rat calvaria and the modifications taking place during implantation were studied by Raman spectroscopy. The experimental glass-ceramics were composed of different contents of βW, αW, βTCP, αTCP, and glassy phases. Materials were implanted for 7-, 15-, 45- and 120-day periods after which the implanted materials were recovered and analyzed by FT-Raman spectroscopy. The results suggested that the αW phase reabsorbs fast during implantation in the glass-ceramics 60/40 and 80/20, whereas βTCP and αTCP glass-ceramic are gradually attenuated and replaced by biological apatite-like bands. In the glass-ceramic 20/80, the bands related to the βTCP phase remained unvaried in all analyzed periods. New bands associated with the deposition of colla-genous glass-ceramic 20/80 behaved just as an osteoconductive filling material, while glass-ceramics 60/40 and 80/20 were able to induce deposition of organic matrix mineralized new tissue.
