The physical and mechanical properties of the composite such as tensile strength, flexural strength, water absorption, hardness illustrated the competency of the developed composite. It was found that per-cent water absorption is very low for the resultant studied composite. However, water absorption increased very slowly when metal mat layers were increased. Furthermore, mechanical strength of the composite was increased as mechanical properties: tensile strength, flexural strength, hardness and stiffness of this composite increased with the increase in the number of metal mat layer in the composite. Thermal, morphological and microstructural properties in addition to direct current (D.C.) conductivity of the prepared composites were investigated. Thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy in the attenuated total reflection mode (FTIR/ATR), X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscope/energy dispersive using X-ray analysis (SEM/EDX) and DC conductivity measurements were used to characterize the prepared composites. The effect of the hydroxyl-sodalite-to-graphite and NaOH-to-kaolinite ratios on the electrical conductivity was investigated and evaluated on the generated composite specimens made of Jordanian kaolinite or pure kaolinite. It was demonstrated that increasing the mass ratio of graphite-to-kaolinite in the clay-based composites increased the electrical conductivity of the resultant composites. The developed sensor has an improvement of accuracy, reliability, and economic efficiency; apart from fast response and recovery time (~s), negligible baseline drift and high selectivity for moisture. The sensing mechanism was discussed based on their microstructures, such as surface area and mesopore volume. In general, at low humidity, surface area and water adsorption play the dominant role, while at high humidity, mesopore volume and capillary condensation become important. Standard characterization techniques such as AFM, FESEM, BET, XRD and impedance spectroscopy were employed for micro-structural and electrical characterization of RH sensor. The nano porous alumina film undergoes a huge change in dielectric upon adsorption of moisture, ensuing large change in capacitance. Additionally, a prototype RH meter has been developed with digital readout for humidity. The interface circuit was based on capacitor-to-duty cycle (CDC) converter. The proposed digital circuit has the advantage of performing adaptive measurements as a function of resolution and bandwidth. NKBT sintered at 1150℃ for 4 h exhibited highly dense (96% - 98% of the theoretical density) and uniform grains of size 1.1 μm. The coexistence of tetragonal (P4bm) and rhombohedral (R3c) phases due to the presence of morphotrophic phase boundary for the chosen composition has been confirmed by the Rietveld refinement studies. Enhanced ferroelectric properties such as remnant polarization (Pr) and coercive field (EC) are found to be 37 μC/cm2 and 30 kV/cm, respectively. The optimized synthesis procedure for NKBT ceramics resulted in enhanced strain (%) and converse piezoelectric coefficient (d33*) of 0.3 % and 554 pm/V which is attributed to smaller grain size and switching of non 180o domains. The magnetization, the remanent polarization Pr and the real part of the dielectric function are studied theoretically as a function of temperature, with and without a magnetic field, respectively. The magnetization and the polarization exist together below the magnetic phase transition temperature. Pr decreases whereas increases and the peak shifts to smaller temperature values with increasing magnetic field h. Moreover, the temperature and electric field E dependence of the magnetization M is also discussed. A kink is observed around the ferroelectric transition temperature. The effect of concentration, particle size and stirring speed reaction is examined. Thermochimique properties of each kinetic parameters reaction are determined. It was found that these parameters have a considerable effect on the thermochemical aspect of the attack reaction. It is known that the process of PN sulphophosphoric acid attack leads to the formation of dihydrate (CaSO4.2H2O: DH). The present work shows the precipitation of other residues their formula depends on factors studied. The films were vacuum evaporated and the sensor response was evaluated as changes in the optical absorption spectra, hydrophobic properties and conductivity at different gas concentrations. From UV-Vis results, important changes in the absorption peaks were observed after gas exposure. The morphology of the films before and after gas interaction was obtained by using scanning electron and atomic force microscopy. The films morphology showed a degradation after gas adsorption for the metal free system but gas entrapment for the zinc porphyrin film. In order to elucidate the gas adsorption phenomena, density functional theory calculations were also performed. The plot of the quantity of heat measured by integrating the raw signal as a function of the dissolved mass in the same volume solution at 25℃ presents three straight segments attributed at the formation of the hemihydrate (CaSO4·1/2H2O:HH), the dihydrate (CaSO4·2H2O:DH) or a mixture of these two products checked by X-ray diffraction, infrared spectroscopy and thermal analysis (Differential Scanning Calorimeter: DSC). The attack by the acid mixture was performed at higher temperature and showed in addition the formation of another form of calcium sulfate:anhydrous (CaSO4:AH). Moreover, the variation of mass enthalpy versus temperature presents a break at the T = 45℃. The TC for all the Ni0.5Cu0.25Zn0.25GdxFe2-xO4 (x = 0.0, 0.025, 0.05, 0.075, 0.1) samples was measured by using one of the double coil susceptibility setup. In all the samples it is observed that, at a certain temperature, susceptibility falls to zero indicating the Curie temperature (TC) and ferrimagnetic samples are converted into paramagnetic sample at that temperature. The electrical properties were investigated for these samples. For the determination of volume conductivity, in addition to the analytical method, for the first time, a graphical method is presented as well. According to the experimental results, obtained by both methods, the volume conductivity values of negative corona charged samples were higher than those of the samples charged by positive corona. Considering the different nature of positive and negative coronas, these differences in results are to be expected and are in full accordance with the theoretical considerations as well. On the other hand, the good agreement between the analytical method results and those obtained by the graphical method, indicates high accuracy of the proposed analytical formula.
