The conventional metaphase cytogenetics can indicate loci that are hotspots while analysis by single nucleotide polymorphism arrays (SNP-A) can identify chromosomal defects which may play a role in the etiology of cancer. A cumulative genotype risk due to each allele of candidate genes of the signaling pathways regulating c-MYC, HIF1A, TP53 and BRCA1 may be a factor facilitating cancer development. Cancer risk was assessed in a 35-year-old healthy son of a 60-year-old MBC patient with a family history of cancer by metaphase cytogenetics, SNP-A and analysis of 25 polymorphisms in six genes TP53, MDM2, VEGF, VEGFR1, HIF1A, and BRCA1. The risk genotype GG-TT of MDM2 309T > G and VEGF-417C/T polymorphisms along with chromosomal instability shown by cytogenetic analysis and SNP-A, rare de novo duplication Yp, deletion in 7q pericentromeric region indicate an increased risk of cancer in the healthy son of an MBC patient.

Many \u0000studies documented the efficacy of pegylated \u0000liposomal doxorubicin (PLD) in patients with MBC, but there is a limited data \u0000about the cardiac safety with high cumulative dose (HCD) of PLD. Aim of the \u0000work: We conducted this trial to outline the cardiac \u0000safety of HCD of PLD in patients with \u0000MBC who previously received conventional anthracyclines. Methods: During the period of nine years (January 2011 to \u0000December 2019). We extracted the data of the patients with MBC receiving \u0000PLD at Medical Oncology Department, South Egypt Cancer Institute, Assiut \u0000University. These included patients’ demographics and therapeutic data \u0000including the full data of PLD, prior conventional anthracyclines, prior \u0000trastuzumab, and prior radiotherapy. Also, data about comorbidities as well as \u0000cardiac and other toxicities of PLD were obtained. The data was analysed using \u0000SPSS v. 21. Results: For all 81 eligible patients, the mean age was 43.9 \u0000years (±standard deviation (SD) 13.2). The mean cumulative dose of PLD was \u0000378.4 mg/m2 (± SD of 250.2) and a range of 100 - 1200 \u0000mg/m2. About thirty-one (38.3%) patients received high cumulative dose (400 mg/m2 or more), \u0000while the remaining 50 patients did not. The decline in left \u0000ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) was relatively rare; and of low grade. Grade 2 decline in LVEF occurred in only two patients who \u0000received high cumulative dose of PLD, and only one patient who did not reach \u0000HCD (p = 0.555). Grade 3 or 4 decline in LVEF did not occur in patients either with \u0000or without HCD. Regarding other toxicities, there was a significant increase in \u0000incidence of all grades palmar plantar erythrodysesthesia (PPE) in patients who received HCD of PLD when compared to those who did not reach the HCD (38.7% versus 16% respectively; p = 0.021). Conclusion: Our study concluded that the use of \u0000PLD seems to be a justified agent in the treatment of MBC who previously \u0000treated by conventional anthracyclines in the adjuvant, metastatic or both settings, \u0000even in patients reaching the cumulative dose of conventional anthracycline.

In context of breast cancer increase in Senegal, we have carried out breast morphology in female subjects of the Sahelian type in order to contribute to the development of a morphological database for reconstruction, reduction or breast augmentation. It was a prospective study on 118 female subjects received at Cancer Institute for screening. They were divided into two groups (age ≤ 40 years and age > 40 years). Subjects’ morphometric variables were collected in anatomical position and correlated with age, parity, obesity and genital activity using. Fifty six subjects (47.5%) were over 40 years of age. There were 40 multiparous (33.9%). Fifteen subjects (12.7%) and six subjects (5%) were obese and morbidly obese, respectively. Subjects in genital activity were 34 (29%). The overall average size of the areola was 4.3 ± 1.5 cm. The nipple was low located with an average of 7.2 ± 3.5 cm. The diameters mentioned above increased significantly with age and body mass index, for p-values 0.05, with the exception of the vertical diameter. Whether examinees who have dense breasts should be notified is currently under consideration in Japan; however, there is concern about the low level of understanding regarding dense breasts. A questionnaire survey on the degree of comprehension regarding dense breasts was conducted among 409 general women of >20 years of age in Hachinohe city in October 2017 and 2018. The results showed that the degree of comprehension was extremely low, as only 35 people (8.5%) responded with, “I know the meaning”; however, 32 of them (91.5%) stated that they would like to be notified in they had dense breasts. In addition, the degree of comprehension regarding dense breasts was significantly greater among those who had a breast cancer screening history (OR = 6.4; 95% CI = 2.0 - 19.8; P = 0.001) and a self-examination history than among those with no such history (OR = 2.5; 95% CI = 1.1 - 5.8; P = 0.03). However, the degree of comprehension did not differ between participants of years of age or between participants with and without a breast cancer sufferer among their close blood relatives. The present findings to reflect a low understanding of dense breasts on mammography screening and suggest that the degree of comprehension is influenced by the presence or absence of a consultation history and a self-examination history.
