Khorsandi, Bahador Bakhshi","doi":"10.1109/IranianCEE.2019.8786672","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/IranianCEE.2019.8786672","url":null,"abstract":"Network Function Virtualization (NFV) was recently proposed to improve the flexibility of network service provisioning and reduce the deployment costs by the decoupling the traditional network functions from the dedicated proprietary hardware equipment and turning them into the software-based virtualized entity, which is called a Virtual Network Function (VNF). Typically, the VNFs are concatenated together in a sequential order to form a Service Function Chains (SFCs) which provide specific services for users. Since failure of each VNF leads to breaking down the entire service chain, it is critical that service providers offer guaranteed and highly available SFCs against the failures. Previous works for simplicity assumed a completely available network infrastructure or just one failure in a same time; further, they increase availability of a SFC by adding dedicated backups which is costly. Unlike previous works, we investigate the problem of guarantying the required availability of SFCs against the multiple failures in a same time with minimum resource consumption. We proposed a new Availability-aware Clustered SFC Embedding (AC-SFC) algorithm which not only satisfies the availability requirement of SFC but also reduces the footprints of backup resource by using the Share Protection Cluster (SPC). Further, this problem is formulated as an Integer Linear Programming (ILP). We proposed a heuristic algorithm to overcome the ILP's complexity and new technique for calculating the availability of SPC. The traditional methods for contention-based MAC are unable to manage a massive number of simultaneous requests. On another side, recent methods for MTCs have not adequately attended to energy consumption of machines along with QoS. In this paper, a method for contention-based massive access protocol is presented based on p-persistent CSMA which considers both energy and delay requirement of machines, a multi-objective optimization problem is solved by BS at the beginning of each time frame in order to find the optimum value of transmission probability based on the number of machines and their distances from the BS. The optimization problem aims at achieving maximum energy efficiency and minimum access delay. To avoid the overhead of solving the optimization problem, the value of probability is temporarily updated by the machine at the end of each time slot, based on its delay requirement and the number of its recent access failures. This will affect the entropy coding and consequently the size of the resulting compressed data. The change in the file size might be used as a feature in steganalysis. In this paper, we investigate the impact of several well-known steganography methods on the size of JPEG file. The experiments show interesting results, where we considered several embedding payloads and quality factors. OutGuess 0.1, OutGuess 0.2, and complementary embedding methods increase the file size, while F5, nsF5, and PQ decrease it. The control signal in this approach is the motors' voltage, and can be directly used. For each of the manipulator joints, a local model is considered, which is based on the manipulator's input and output, and each joint is controlled independently. The only information needed for implementation of this method is the motors' voltage and the position of the joints, which are both easily measurable. In this approach, all system dynamics and external disturbances are considered as an unknown term, that is estimated using an adaptive law obtained from the Lyapunov theory. The designed control law is simple, and controller stability is guaranteed by using this theory. Utilizing interference of users transmitting on the same channel, an intelligent jammer can cause more harmful attacks to the transmission of a special user. In this paper, defense against an intelligent jammer is considered. We assume that the attacker can utilize the interference of other users in addition to its interference to jam a special user. A single controller stochastic game is proposed to model the interactions between special user and the jammer. Using simplex algorithm, we obtained the optimal strategies. The proposed cell is based on sub-threshold MOS translinear (MTL) principle and consists of six matched NMOS transistors. Square-rooting, exponential and logarithmic functions are computational current-mode circuits that are designed using the proposed cell. The designed functions are simulated by HSPICE simulator in TSMC 0.18 µm (level-49 parameters) CMOS technology. Post-layout simulation results plus Monte Carlo analysis verified the functionality and superiority of the proposed circuits. The SARFI index specifies the number of voltage sags experiencing at a given area or in a given system per year more severe than the curve limits. The SARFI index is helpful in establishing efficient planning for mitigation of voltage sags. This paper also assesses voltage sags considering low voltage ride-through (LVRT) requirements for wind turbines. The determination of AOVs is very important for assessing voltage sags performance, since voltage sags can be caused by faults occurring in different parts of a power system. In this paper, the procedure of determining AOVs for balanced faults are considered. The partial microring affects the behavior of the resonator and results in a change in the wavelength response of the device. A change in size or location of the partial microring causes a noticeable alteration in the wavelength response of the resonator. The main purpose of this paper is to confirm the ability of the Static Var Compensator (SVC) as a member of FACTS family in mitigating the SSR. Imperialist competitive algorithm (ICA)-based Conventional Damping Controller (CDC) and Adaptive Neuro-Fuzzy Inference Systems (ANFIS) are designed as two novel controllers In order to provide the effective damping of SSR. The system stability is studied through time domain simulations, Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) analysis and a Performance Index (PI) which is defined based on the dynamics of the power system.
