This has prompted to a need to create proficient and sustainable techniques of storing energy. Solar thermal energy can be stored in the form of latent heat by utilizing appropriate phase change materials (PCMs), which offer high heat storage capacity. An experimental study was done in Khartoum city during summer season to investigate the thermal performance of solar water heating system integrated with PCM using flat plate collector as a heat source. The PCM used was paraffin wax whose melting point is 56 °C. An energy and exergy analysis was done to assess the thermal performance of the system and fix the thermodynamic blemish in the energy system. The outcomes showed that PCM acted as smart material which can regulate the temperature of system in the required range. The outcomes indicated that the overall energy and exergy efficiencies of the system were 85% and 76% respectively. The number of entropy generated was 0.26. The results showed that PCM acted as smart regulator to keep supplying the amount of heat to the system even after the absent of heat source. PCM also could increase the exergy output and led to reduce the exergy destruction. This indicates that the PCM could improve the exergy efficiency. First the dynamic model of the robot is obtained using the so-called Lagrange equation, then a robust control strategy based on the conventional sliding mode control is introduced to control the motion of the robot at specific position for pick and place tasks along with PID control scheme. The results of the two controllers are compared. From the simulation results the SMC is found to be superior to the PID controller in term of fast and robust response yet with higher control input. Under GICs the transformer core suffers a half-cycle saturation its leads to disturbances in the power system, also the design of transformer its impact by GICs. GICs cause some problem in power transformers like heating, burning winding, reactive power consumption and increase odd and even harmonics. While it is difficult to measure this operating temperature because the size of the sensor. This paper studies the characterization of micro-heater and temperature sensor made of gold metal, embedded in the device. The measured resistance for the temperature sensor is found to be close to the modelled values within 0.69 % error. Temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) of the temperature sensor in a range of 25-105°C is found. TCR increases Iinearly with increasing the temperature and decreases Iinearly with decreasing the temperature. Therefore, it has to recover the packets lost via data propagation and retransmit these packets after three duplicate acknowledge. Wait for three duplicate acknowledge could increase the total delay in the network. This work aims to investigate shorter retransmission time. It was proposed that two duplicate acknowledge and the NS2 program was used to simulate the transmission process in the network, taking into account all the factors that affect the transmission. Energy is a key factor for development of Sudan's cities and the national economy. This paper discusses the renewable energy resources available in western Sudan namely at Al-Fashir city, in addition to how to utilize it. Western Sudan has a long history of difficulties in meeting its energy demand making it hard to execute strategic plans thus why it is an important study case. The historical background of the city is provided with the major energy issues the city is facing. The paper analyzes the most efficient renewable energy sources in the area to get the best combination that will provide the maximum utilization. Another issue is the refugee camps in the area that have no reliable energy resources. The mechanism of generating energy using wind and solar power are discussed, analyzing the potential leads to the use of wind energy where wind turbines are placed on Marrah Mountain. This paper justifies why it is the most efficient resource to supply the city because it's clean, reliable and other advantages are discussed. For refugee camps, it is found that photovoltaic cells are the best choice for electricity generation since its clean and a mobile source. Energy conversion systems are sized to meet the demand. It identifies intervals of the audio signal with speech from intervals without speech. In this paper speech activity detection is performed using a Deep BeliefNetwork (DBN). The features used as input to the network were either Mel Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) or Linear Predictive Cepstral Coefficients (LPCC). The DBN was implemented using MATLAB toolbox DeeBNET V3.0. The training and testing were performed with 13 MFCC features as input and then 12 LPCC features as input. When the testing was performed with speech containing audio data of different signal to noise ratio (SNR) values, the network classified it accurately. The same accuracy was not achieved when the testing data consisted of only stationary noise.
