The campaign involved three disdrometers, a rain gauge, and polarimetric radar measurements at S and X bands. Attenuation correction schemes using well-established procedures are applied to the radar data. The effect of gravitational deformation on the radio telescope is quantified by a structural analysis conducted with a finite element solver. The deformed geometry is then analysed using a computational electromagnetic package from which the performance degradation can be assessed. The formulation is based on the standard Müller surface integral equation where the unknowns are both electric and magnetic currents on the boundary of the dielectric. We introduce two additional decoupled scalar problems that correspond to the electric and magnetic charges. By doing that we find a second kind integral equation that has unique solution and is stable in low frequency and under mesh refinement. However, the typical propeller size of these vehicles gives rise to a resonant behavior at some commonly used radar frequency bands. Around the resonant frequency, the radar cross section of the propeller highly depends on the incident wave polarization. Consequently, the rotation of the propeller causes a significant periodic fluctuation of the radar echo, moreover, the propeller length can also be estimated. The measurements are performed by implementing a 44 MIMO system using software defined radios (SDR). The given antenna operates across several well-known frequency bands between 0.7 GHz to 3 GHz while the channel capacity measurements are performed at 2.45 GHz WLAN band. The performance of the reconfigurable printed antenna is compared with an array of four standard monopoles which are half wavelength apart. By embedding a metallic strip to the traditional loop dipole antenna and adopting T-shaped coupling feeding structure, a wideband impedance bandwidth from 1.7-2.7GHz with SWR≤1.5 was achieved, the isolation of two ports was more than 25dB. This new feed product will extend telecoms satellite capacity by using Q/V-band for gateway links and maximising the Ka-band spectrum for broadband user links. Following an initial feed architecture trade off and breadboard phase for critical feed components, a generic wideband feed architecture was selected for full EM feed development. This comprises a wideband feed horn, wide band polariser, wide band Ortho-mode Transducer (OMT), and a pair of triplexers to accommodate the most challenging filter frequency plan. Predicted and measured performance is presented. The main application is Random Line-Of-Sight Over-The- Air measurements in anechoic or semi-anechoic chambers (i.e., anechoic chamber with reflecting floor). More specifically, the aim is testing the wireless communication systems on automotive vehicles. The aim is to generate the uniform field distribution of a plane wave over a pre-defined test zone containing the car or at least the part of the car containing the antenna(s). In the PO simulations, we use the digital model of a turboprop aircraft to calculate the radiation pattern of the monopole antenna. In order to verify the effect of the aircraft on the antenna radiation pattern, we use different antenna and propeller positions. The results are compared with near field measurements of the real aircraft using a monopole antenna mounted at the same positions as used for the PO simulations.
