Quality proven design, detailed construction schedule with precise data, and well-implemented progress monitoring process are the foundations of successful data-driven construction management. Integrated Building Information Modelling (BIM) is recognized as the technology that will most likely highly impact the industry. BIM increases the effort in the early phases of project design, improving stakeholders’ communication, early identifying and resolving design issues therefore preventing potential losses. Further, at the most cost-intensive project execution phase, BIM is often inadequately implemented or neglected, losing the huge potential of applying the BIM tools and methods for improving construction management processes. This paper analyses development of detailed construction schedule which considers multiple domains that need to be included in the planning process. Traditionally, especially for large-scale projects, it is an effort-intensive process that requires knowledge, focus and vast data inputs. Contrary to the construction industry, productivity in the manufacturing sector is quite enviable. Therefore, authors analyzed the assembly line concepts and Lean principles, applied in manufacturing, fitting them into the BIM environment to improve construction scheduling. The paper presents an advanced BIM model-derived location-based construction planning methodology (BIM-LBP) for development of construction schedules in the integrated 4D and 5D BIM environment making the most of available BIM model data.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85068660","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since Croatia joined the European Union, it has utilised a significant amount of HRK for research and development projects. Research and development projects have a long lead time—over four years on average—from the beginning of the idea to the end of implementation. Several stakeholders are involved in the process, including institutions, academia, SMEs, and consulting firms. The level of readiness of the process for digitalisation varies depending on the project lifecycle phase. Since digitalisation is widely recognized as the key to success in service businesses, this study aims to establish a digitalisation heatmap for administrative and operational processes in the EU-funded research and development project lifecycle and recognize opportunities for digitalisation of the process. Data were collected through an empirical study of EU-funded project. Taken together, these findings suggest that there is a potential for further digitisation of the process, especially for consultants in the implementation phase and communication with the client as well as in state institutions. Further research should focus on identified subprocesses to successfully develop a methodology to increase digitisation readiness and on extraordinary circumstances that result in changes of lesser or greater significance to the project.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87235024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the key determinants of project success are the essential characteristics of the project manager and their impact on the personal development and satisfaction of employees as well as the resulting success of the project. The attitudes of employees of 5 construction design companies on the characteristics of project managers and project’s performance were examined and analyzed using the factor analysis and multiple linear regression analysis. The research refers to employees working on large infrastructure projects that are considered to be important for a country due to their effects on the development of that country, its economy, and the lives of its inhabitants. Therefore, the results of this research are also considered particularly important. Based on the established correlation between the major project manager and team member traits this research aims to define how their combination affects personal development and satisfaction of individuals as well as the fact that the project was finished on schedule and with profit. Research has shown that the success of a project is more strongly influenced by the project manager's attributes than the team member characteristics in terms of personal development and satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75450351","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A system based on a plugin for a free IFC file viewer - BIMvision was shown. The system is aimed at supporting the identification of defects in individual rooms, assessing their significance along with estimating the time and cost of defect repairs. Then, the plugin allows to collect and add descriptions of the acceptance or non-acceptance of a building element in the IFC file of the building BIM model. The system is based on historical data on the occurrence of construction defects, which facilitates the identification of defects during commissioning. A helpful module is the chatbot module, which suggests where and what defects occur most often after asking a series of questions about the type of object, rooms, their location in the building and etc. The result of the plugin activities is also the planned time of removing defects from the database created as a result of measurements of the time of works on the construction site and the planned cost from the database of costs of removing defects. The article presents the concept of such system along with an explanation of the operation principles all its individual modules.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78481316","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For many years, Cost-Benefit Analysis (CBA) has been used to evaluate and make decisions on co-financing large infrastructure projects funded by the EU. As a result, the EU has incorporated the CBA into its cohesion policies, major initiative objectives, major sectoral policies, and common links, such as climate change and resource efficiency. However, in order to achieve ambitious European goals, the CBA has found a much broader application and is now used for the evaluation of circular economy projects, alternative materials in construction projects, in waste management and sustainable design, or to prove the efficiency of information processes or corporate governance. This paper will give an overview of the use of CBA in assessing various construction projects, as well as categorize identified benefits that were monetized in each group of projects. Finally, the general advantages and disadvantages of using CBA when evaluating and selecting projects from various construction areas will be summarized.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84051140","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is partly due to lagging projectification in the public sector and also because there is a lack of exemplary entrepreneurship. Therefore, this paper explores the role of exemplary entrepreneurship in the projectification of society in Germany, utilizing the example of Elon Musk and Tesla´s fourth Gigafactory near Berlin. Building on qualitative and quantitative research on the projectification of society in Germany with reference to institutional theory, findings from an explanatory case study are compared, and the insights are discussed. For instance, the reputation of the entrepreneur, Elon Musk, is that of an innovator who can overcome well-established rules in Germany and contribute to a significant acceleration of large-scale projects by making courageous decisions. Upcoming projects in Germany are already using Elon Musk's success story as a role model for their own approach. Although this case study is only one example of a large-scale project managed in an entrepreneurial way and further case studies should explore the interrelationship, it shows that projectification of society in general and the performant realization of projects, in particular, can benefit from it. As a result, promising behaviors and approaches for implementing similar projects can be induced, providing a boost to the projectification of society overall.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82960665","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to solve the problem of site variable and dynamic conditions, two major research topics may stand out, more precisely, off-site performance planning and on-site performance tracking and monitoring. Earthworks commonly involve extensive utilization of various construction machines, mainly excavators and tipper (or dump) trucks. Tracking and monitoring of earthworks, based on collected quality data from the construction site, are necessary to detect discrepancies between the planned and actual work efficiency of construction machinery. The main topic of this paper is the time study analysis of one of the standard technological processes in earthworks – loading and transporting materials by tipper trucks. On-site data were obtained using the stopwatch method with the purpose of determining the actual work efficiency of the tipper truck. This paper aims to propose a research framework for clear insight into the progress effectiveness of earthworks and the actual work efficiency of the tipper truck. The purpose of applying the research framework is to form a base for tracking and monitoring the work of tipper trucks so the right decisions can be made in a timely manner. Such can enhance earthworks progress by using the appropriate number of tipper trucks and their better utilization.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80011984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Public investments, especially projects whose capex is (co)financed by grants, while opex is nationally financed, have to be planned and designed in a way to have optimally balanced opex and capex within life cycle of the project i.e. building. The paper presents case study - positive example of recognizing the benefits arising from the implementation of integrated platform of information modelling on a public project \"Judicial Square in Zagreb\". After the timely involvement of the project management team in the early stages of the project (creation of the procurement strategy and the tender phase for designing), the Ministry of Justice and Administration of RH adopted a strategy for realization of the project on an BIM platform in order to enable effective and sustainable assets management in the operational phase. The paper concludes that, despite the lack of regulation in RH and the still lack of understanding of the benefits that BIM brings, it is possible to apply BIM on public projects in RH autonomously. By creating national guidelines, i.e. a national framework and platform for the application of BIM, it is possible to create preconditions for its cogent application in all public projects in RH i.e. to enable the creation and adoption of a national strategy that would determine the manner and period in which BIM would be implemented as an obligation on public projects.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80953484","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though majority of the expenses for the project are in the construction phase, the value for the society is realized only in the operation phase. Projects are often remembered for how they serve the community in the later stages more than their efficiency during the construction phase due to its long lifecycle. There is a need to understand how projects integrate with the society after its construction, especially considering the inability of the planners to create a design considering all future scenarios. In the proposed research, we employ a multiple case study research considering the Oresund bridge connecting Denmark with Sweden and the Port of Rotterdam in the Netherlands. We observe how during the operation phase the infrastructure acts as an enabler, adapt to changing needs of the society, and diversify its impacts. This study has significant implications to society as it explores how to extract value from already constructed infrastructure assets.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83420745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the potential of digital technologies in the design and construction processes of modular housing is not yet sufficiently explored. For the development of novel tools, this study focuses on stakeholders involved in planning and production, as expert knowledge represents an essential component of research to address both requirements and existing gaps in the industry. The aim is to answer the research question of which potentials and challenges BIM for Design to Production faces from an experts' point of view. In this study, 8 expert interviews were conducted with manufacturers and construction companies to identify the challenges and status of digitalization and modular construction as well as future potentials. Concluding, the potentials, challenges, preliminary key performance indicators and success factors for the implementation of BIM for design to production in modular construction and residential construction are presented from an experts' perspective.","PeriodicalId":64912,"journal":{"name":"建设监理","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85983118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
