Base on the minimum value of the conduction angle to satisfy the requirements of the IEC 61000-3-2 Class-C standard, the conduction loss of the ICS stage can be reduced. The input current shaper is achieved by using a bridge rectifier which acts as the Class-DE resonant rectifier. By using this topology the conduction angle of the diode can be increased to high enough for satisfy the IEC 61000-3-2 Class-C standard requirements. The proposed electronic ballast is designed for 36-W fluorescent lamp and operated at a line rms voltage of 220 V, a line frequency of 50 Hz with the switching frequency fixed at about 76 kHz. The experimental results show that the total harmonic distortion is 29.5%, the power factor is 0.96, a lamp-current crest factor is 1.42, and 95.2% efficiency at full power.","PeriodicalId":6319,"journal":{"name":"2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"48 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91055275","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In LoRAReZ, the size of expected zone and request zone are set adaptively based on the distance between the source node and destination node. We evaluate the impact of mobility on the performance of LoRAReZ in terms of packet delivery fraction, routing overhead, end-to-end delay, throughput and power consumption by comparing with those of the traditional Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) and Modified Ad Hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (MAODV). The results show that LoRAReZ can provide the better performance than those of AODV and MAODV.","PeriodicalId":6319,"journal":{"name":"2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"42 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73761450","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main advantage of designing 4/2 SRM is the robust rotor structure for high speed unidirectional rotating applications such as the air conditioner's blower. In the designing process, the finite element method magnetics (FEMM) is also employed to analyze the designing SRM with its optimized parameters given by PSO. This PSO algorithm is efficient and flexible. The objective function is based on the ripple torque minimization with respect to rotor node position. The PSO algorithm is described and the preliminary FEMM simulation results will be given for verifying optimal rotor design by PSO algorithm. In the final paper, the complete FEMM simulation results with detailed analysis will be provided.","PeriodicalId":6319,"journal":{"name":"2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"44 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77107567","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In a tonal language such as Thai, with segments (consonants and vowels) and supra-segments (tones), many crucial acoustic cues are to be taken into account for speech processing strategy, i.e., amplitude envelopes and temporal fine structure. This paper presents a new speech synthesis algorithm for CI, which combines an amplitude envelope extraction by the continuous interleaved sampling (CIS) strategy and a temporal fine structure extraction to construct carrier signals, and to use them for amplitude modulation based on each band's envelope. Synthesized initial phonemes using three different algorithms (Fu et al., Chen and Zhang, and the proposed algorithm) with six-band speech processor were evaluated by eight native Thais with normal hearing. The results show that the proposed algorithm produces the most significant improvement in speech intelligibility of the initial phonemes compared to the other algorithms. This suggests a possibility of using the proposed algorithm for CI devices, specifically designed for tonal languages such as Thai, to improve speech perception in CI patients.","PeriodicalId":6319,"journal":{"name":"2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"40 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77733766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also an auxiliary circuit has been applied to the proposed converter for providing soft switching condition. This circuit consists of two coupled inductor and one diode. Therefore converter switch is turned on under ZCS condition. The other advantages of the proposed converter are continuous input/output current, simple structure and PWM control. In many applications of DC-DC converters, loads cannot be specified in advance, and they will be changed suddenly from no loads to full loads. A DC-DC converter system used a conventional single controller cannot be adapted to change dynamics and it occurs large output voltage variation. In this paper, a robust digital controller for suppress the change of step response characteristics and variations of output voltages in the load sudden changes is proposed. Experimental studies using a micro-processor for the controller demonstrate that this type of digital controller is effective to suppress the variations.","PeriodicalId":6319,"journal":{"name":"2012 9th International Conference on Electrical Engineering/Electronics, Computer, Telecommunications and Information Technology","volume":"27 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76267356","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
