Study of fish behavior need to do to know the success of fishing gear and grade of fish anxiety to response that was given. Fish behavior is fish movement and fish response to the existing situation in the environment. Fish behavior can be influenced by the changes that occur in the waters and the kebiaaan fish. In the fishing coastal, fish can be attracted to fish-collecting equipment used as aids. The fish collection tool is a fishing aids that placed in the waters to attract the attention of the fish, so the fish gather in the area and facilitate the fishermen in the fishing operation. The use of light atractors is considered to be able to assist the fishing process, especially the lights used at night. The purpose of this study is to determine the number of fish approaching and the average response time of fish to the different treatment that is on FADs, light, and prototype AUTO-LION (combination of rumpon and light). The method used in this research is experimental fishing method with indication of fish response time when observation. The results of observation on the average of the approaching fish have differences in each treatment given. There was a difference (sign <0.05) indicating that the behavior of fish with the treatment of the average number of fish approaching, and no difference (sign> 0.05) time of fish to approach when treated. The average interest of the closest approaching fish is the combination of FADs with light.Keywords: AUTO-LION, FADs, light, fishABSTRAKAUTO-LION (Automatic Lighting Rumpon) merupakan inovasi rumpon dengan atraktor cahaya yang dapat aktif secara otomatis sehingga dapat membantu nelayan untuk meningkatkan efektivitas dalam penangkapan, baik siang maupun malam hari. Studi mengenai tingkah laku ikan perlu dilakukan untuk mengetahui keberhasilan alat dan tingkat ketertarikan ikan terhadap respon yang diberikan. Tingkah laku ikan merupakan pergerakan ikan dan respon ikan terhadap keadaan yang ada pada lingkungannya, dapat dipengaruhi oleh adanya perubahan yang terjadi pada perairan dan kebiasaan ikan. Dalam dunia penangkapan, ikan dapat tertarik dengan alat pengumpul ikan yang digunakan sebagai alat bantu. Alat pengumpul ikan adalah suatu alat bantu yang diletakan di perairan untuk menarik perhatian ikan, sehingga ikan berkumpul di daerah tersebut dan memudahkan nelayan dalam operasi penangkapan. Penggunaan atraktor cahaya dianggap mampu membantu proses penangkapan ikan di malam hari. The intensity of fishing activities and less environmentally friendly fishing practices caused decline in catch per unit effort (CPUE) of this species. The objective of this study is to analyze the exploitation rate of P. homarus in Gunung Kidul waters using CPUE trend and population parameters as indicators. From February 2013 to January 2014, there were 1067of P. homarus collected using a stratified random sampling method for the duration of the research.The carapace length data were analyzed using analytical model application of ELEFAN I program. Daily catchment product was obtained from middlemen for five consecutive years to identify the CPUE trend. The result showed that there was a decrease in CPUE of P. homarus in 2010 and 2011.The average carapace length of the first capture (Lc) (53 mm CL) was smaller than the size of first sexually mature lobster (Lm) (58,5 mm CL). The exploitation rate of P. homarus had also exceeded 0,5. These factors indicated that Scalloped Spiny Lobster (P. homarus) was over exploited. In this study, mortality rate of fish catches (F) was influenced by the high value of E0.5 which is highly correlated with fishing pressure.Von Bertalanffy growth function shows that both females and males of P. homarus have a slow growth rate (0,46/year and 0,49/year), which is still in the range of Palinuridae family’s growth rate (0,27-0,54/year). The maximum age is between 8-10 years old, which is younger than other lobster species in Palinuridae family. Harvest control and environmentally friendly fishing practices are necessary to reduce fishing pressure of this species. Regulating the use of fishing gears in TUZ of Misool,it is essential to ensure the sustainability of marine ecosystems and fisheries in the region. The  objective of this study isto determine the suitability of fishing gear inthe depth zone of less than 50 m and more than 50 m in Misool TUZ, Raja Ampat. The fishing gear suitability was assessed based on bioecological, social, and legal aspects. The method used in this research was analytic hierarchy process (AHP) whichderivesthe prioritiesfor criteria and alternative fishing gear using expert judgment. The results of the analysis showed that fishing gears that wasmost appropriate to be operated in the zone which has thewater depth of less than 50 m was handline.  The most decisive criteria for thiswasthat the fishing gear was undestructive to coral reef ecosystem and seagrass ecosystem. In addition,fishing gears that were suitable inthe zone with depth more than 50 m were trolline and handline, and the most decisive criteria wasthe availability of fish target and not causing conflict between fishermen. On the other hand gillnet and liftnet had a low compatibility to be used in both zones.Keywords:   Analytic hierarchy process, marine protected area,Misool Raja Ampat,suitability of fishing gear, traditional use zones ABSTRAKZona pemanfaatan tradisional (ZPT) Misool terletak di dalam kawasan lindung laut Misool yang memiliki keanekaragaman hayati laut yang tinggi, terutama ikan dan terumbu karang. Oleh karena itu,pengaturan penggunaan alat tangkap ikan di ZPT Misool sangat penting untuk menjamin keberlanjutan ekosistem laut dan perikanan di wilayah ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesesuaian alat tangkap untuk dioperasikan di zona perairan pada kedalaman kurang dari 50 m dan lebih dari 50 m di ZPT Misool, Raja Ampat. Kesesuaian alat penangkapan ikan dinilai berdasarkan aspek bioekologi, sosial dan legal. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) dengan pembobotan terhadap kriteria dan alternatif alat tangkap menggunakan penilaian pakar. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa alat tangkap yang paling sesuai digunakan di zona perairan pada kedalaman kurang dari 50 m adalah pancing ulur, dengan kriteria yang paling menentukan adalah tidak merusak ekosistem terumbu karang dan ekosistem padang lamun. Kemudian pada zona perairan pada kedalaman lebih dari 50 m, alat tangkap yang sesuai digunakan adalah pancing tonda dan pancing ulur, dengan kriteria yang paling menentukan adalah ketersediaan target ikan dan tidak menimbulkan konflik antara nelayan. Banda Sea is a part of fisheries management area (FMA) 714 which is dominated by small pelagic fish according to 2010 Fisheries Statistics. The dominant pelagic fish in Banda is scad (Decapterus spp.) which belongs to small pelagic fish and is commonly caught in Banda Sea. The objective of this research is to estimate small pelagic fish density through spatial and temporal distribution as informaion on fisheries resources in Banda Sea, especially the location and depthwhere scad is abundant and foundin the highest density. Acoustic survey was conducted on 3-18 February 2016. Spatially, density measurement showed that the small pelagic fish distribution in Banda Sea spreadedalong the track of data acquisition and had the highest density in theswimming depth of 5-20 m.  Moreoverhigh density of scad was tended to be found near the slopes of the sea close to the mainland. Temporally,small pelagic fish tended to travel in groups at the day and disperse at night. Density of small pelagic fish distribution according to daily distribution is commonly found at night (06.00 p.m.-05.00 a.m. GMT+8) and dawn (05.00 a.m.-06.00 a.m. GMT+8). Laut Banda merupakan bagian dari wilayah pengelolaan perikanan (WPP) 714 dengan sumberdaya ikan didominasi oleh kelompok ikan pelagisberdasarkan data Statistik Perikanan tahun 2010. Jenis ikan pelagis yang dominan di perairan Laut Banda adalah ikan layang (Decapterus spp.) yang termasuk kedalamkelompok ikan pelagis kecil dan banyak dimanfaatkan di Laut Banda. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengestimasi densitas ikan pelagis kecil secara spastial dan temporal sebagai informasi mengenai sumber daya perikanan di Laut Banda terutama lokasi dan kedalaman ikan pelagis kecil yang banyak ditemukan. Survei akustikdilaksanakan pada tanggal 3-18 Februari 2016 di Laut Banda.Perhitungan densitas secara spasial densitas ikan pelagis kecil menunjukkan hasil sebaran ikan pelagis kecil di perairan Laut Banda menyebar sesuai lintasan survei dan memiliki ukuran densitas ikan tertinggi berada di kedalaman renang 5-20 meter dengan densitas ikan cenderung tinggi berada di lereng laut yang dekat dengan daratan utama. Secara temporal, tingkah laku ikan pelagis pada siang hari cenderung membentuk kelompok, sedangkan pada malam hari cenderung menyebar. This greatly influences the feasibility level of the fishing operation. The objctive of the study is to evaluate the operational feasiblity level of 30 GT fishing vessel that operates in Sulawesi waters (case study INKA MINA 957). The use of  Net Present Value (NPV) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR) methods showed that the catch should be of more than minimum 116 ton per year or the NPV value at  Rp. 124.797.638,- with 10% interest rate assumption within 10 years. Furthermore, based on the internal rate of return (IRR) the interest obtained was approximately 12.2% which was higher than the market interest rate assumptions at about 2.2%. Produktivitas ini sangat mempengaruhi tingkat kelayakan operasional. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengukur tingkat kelayakan operasional kapal perikanan 30 GT yang beroperasi di perairan Sulawesi (studi kasus KM INKA MINA 957). This study aims to identify the agents and actors in Wakatobi Regency and to identify similarities and differences of the perception between agents and actors in the management of conservation areas. The method used is  Principal Component Analysis (PCA). The result showed that there was a similar perception between agent and actor in which that the conservation gives benefit for the society in Wakatobi and the lack of regulation in Wakatobi Regency. Different perceptions between actors and agents occurred due to fishermen intention to fully utilize the resources for their welfare while the government intents to limit the fishing area in order to preserve the natural resources and the environment. Therefore, management related to the  regulation on legal-size of fish and the effectiveness of marine protected areas are needed. Tujuan penelitian adalah mengidentifikasi agen dan aktor yang berada di Kabupaten Wakatobi serta melihat persamaan dan perbedaan persepsi antara agen dengan aktor dalam pengelolaan kawasan konservasi. Penelitian ini menggunakan analisis Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Hasil kajian menunjukkan adanya persamaan persepsi antara agen dan aktor yaitu konservasi memberikan manfaat bagi masyarakat yang ada di Wakatobi dan masih kurangnya peraturan di Kabupaten Wakatobi. Therefore the utilization needs to be done continuously and  to achieve this is by conducting an important  research focussed on the size and the fishing season pattern of the swimming crab by studying the pattern of the catching season, it is expected to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the catching time. The objective of this research is  to 1. Map the distribution of the frequency and size of crab and 2. Determine the pattern of fishing season in Pangkep waters. The research is conducted from March to November 2016. It is located in Pangkep waters regency, South Sulawesi Province. The data is collected through survey method consisted of primary and secondary data. The data were analyzed using frequency distribution analysis approach and time series analysis technique toward catch (kg) of fishing effort. The results obtained showed that the dominant female crab caught with a size > 10.0 cm, as well as dominant male crabs caught with a size > 10 cm. The fishing gear used is trap and gillnet. In addition the catching season is in May, June, July, September, October and November. The peak season of catching season takes place in June and September.Keywords: Size distribution, Season pattern, swimming crab, at Pangkep DistrictABSTRAKPotensi sumberdaya rajungan, merupakan komoditas sumberdaya yang memiliki nilai ekonomis penting, sehingga pemanfaatannya perlu dilakukan secara berkelanjutan. Untuk mencapai hal tersebut maka ukuran hasil tangkapan dan pola musim  penangkapan  rajungan menjadi penting untuk diteliti. Adanya informasi pola musim penangkapan, diharapkan dapat meningkatkan efesiensi dan efektifitas waktu penangkapan rajungan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk 1) memetakan distribusi frekuensi dan ukuran rajungan yang tertangkap, dan 2) menentukan  pola musim hasil tangkapan rajungan di perairan Kabupaten Pangkep. Pelaksanaan penelitian dilaksanakan mulai bulan Maret sampai bulan November 2016, di perairan  Kabupaten Pangkep Propinsi Sulawesi Selatan.  Metode pengumpulan data dalam penelitian ini adalah dengan metode survei.  Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri dari data hasil tangkapan rajungan per hari; panjang dan lebar  (cm) karapas dan berat (gram/kg) rajungan. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan pendekatan analisis distribusi frekuensi dan teknik analisis deret waktu (time series) terhadap hasil tangkapan (kg) persatuan upaya penangkapan. Hasil penelitian yang diperoleh menunjukkan bahwa distribusi frekuensi rajungan betina, tertangkap  berukuran 10,0 cm. Demikian juga rajungan jantan ukuran 10,0 cm lebih dominan tertangkap. Alat tangkap yang digunakan adalah bubu lipat, dan gillnet rajungan. The objective of research was to analysis sustanaibility or environmental friendly of fishing technology of skipjack in Gulf of Bone waters, and has been done for six months, from January to June, 2017. Biology data of catch, fishing technic,  and social economic of fishing unit of pole and line, purse seine, traditional seine net and hand line was collected directely by survey method. The sustainability or environmental friendly of fishing technologies be analyzed using 14 biology, technic, economic and social (Arimoto modified by Mallawa). Result that pole and line reach 76.88 % of sustainability value, pole and line operated in FAD 51.50 %, purse seine 51.25 %, purse seine with FAD 48.75 %, traditional seine net 48.13 $ and hand line 68.18 %.  Low sustainability of fishing technologies caused by small size dominantly in catch, percentage of catch suitable length, investment, income,  number of labour dan fuell used, and protected organism in catch. Keywords: Sustainability, fishing technology, Skipjack ABSTRAK Ikan cakalang merupakan komoditas perikanan penting di perairan Teluk Bone.  Ikan cakalang merupakan salah satu ikan target yang dieksploitasi nelayan sepanjang tahun menggunakan berbagai jenis teknologi penangkapan ikan seperti huhate ( pole and line ), pukat cincin ( purse seine ), payang ( traditional seine net ), pancing tangan ( hand line ) dan diduga ada diantara teknologi tersebut tidak berkelanjutan. Penelitian bertujuan menganalisis keberlanjutan/keramahan lingkungan teknologi penangkapan ikan cakalang di perairan Teluk Bone, selama enam bulan (Januari - Juni 2017). Data biologi hasil tangkapan, teknis alat tangkap dan sosial ekonomi usaha penangkapan huhate, pukat cincin, payang, dan pancing tangan dikumpulkan secara langsung menggunakan metode survei. Keberlanjutan/keramahan lingkungan teknologi penangkapan ikan dianalisis menggunakan 14 kriteria sesuai metode Arimoto modifikasi Mallawa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa huhate rumpon mencapai nilai keberlanjutan 57,50 %, huhate tanpa rumpon 76,88 %, pukat cincin 51,25 %, pukat cincin rumpon 48,75 %, payang 48,13 % dan pancing tangan 68,13 %.  Rendahnya tingkat keberlanjutan teknologi penangkapan disebabkan oleh dominannya ikan ukuran kecil dan rendahnya ikan ukuran layak tangkap, nilai investasi, tingkat pendapatan, penggunaan tenaga kerja dan BBM dan tertangkapnya biota laut yang dilindungi. This research aims to identify fishing gear types according to fishing gear vessel’s volume, fishing time and frequency in every operation, fishing gears productivity, and fishing gears competition. The subject of this research are four biggest number of fishing gear units in PPP Tegalsari (cantrang, arad, gillnet, and mini purse seine) with fishing vessel volume below 10 GT. Samples were taken with purposive sampling method  and collected through filling out the questionnaires. The fishing gears’s productivity determined by the number of catch per unit effort (CPUE). Furthermore, the  fishing gear competition mapped by classified the matrix of transformed fishing gear’s productivity number into some clusters with hierarchycal cluster analysis (HCA). The results show the dominant fishing gear that local fishermen use are cantrang (5, 6, 10 GT), arad (3, 5, 6, 10 GT), gillnet (6 GT), and mini purse seine (9 GT), the highest average of fishing gear operation time is gillnet (3 hours), and the least is mini purse seine (± 1 hour) and the highest average of fishing setting number is cantrang by 27 times/trip and mini purse seine is the least by 5 times/trip, the highest productivity gained by cantrang (5163 kg/trip) and the least is Gillnet (363 kg/trip), and the most intensive fishing gear competition is between cantrang (5 and 6 GT), arad (3,5, and 6 GT), and gillnet (3 GT).Keywords: Competition, fishing gear, productivityABSTRAKNelayan di Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Tegalsari menggunakan alat tangkap yang beragam. Dikhawatirkan antar alat tangkap saling berkompetisi dalam mendapatkan hasil tangkapan ikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi jenis  alat  tangkap  berdasarkan  GT kapal, waktu untuk 1 kali  operasi dan frekuensinya dalam satu trip penangkapan ikan, produktivitas  alat  tangkap, dan kompetisi antar alat tangkap. Alat tangkap yang diamati adalah cantrang, arad, gillnet dan mini purse seine yang dioperasikan menggunakan kapal berukuran ≤ 10 GT. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Produktivitas alat tangkap ditentukan berdasarkan nilai CPUE dan kompetisi antar alat tangkap ditentukan menggunakan metode hierachycal cluster analysis. The calculating process of a and b coefficient in Schaefer’s biology model was conducted through linear regression which has not yet been exact.  This is  due to  the model itself which is quadratic. Therefore to provide the solution is through quadratic process. The linear regression shows the value of f msy and Y msy 1.40 and 1.34 times smaller than quadratic process respectively. Based on the two graphs from the calculating process of a and b coefficient, it can be concluded that the utilization of yellowfin tuna fishery was still not optimal. According to the result based on the linear and quadratic regression, the maximum production of yellowfin tuna  can be increased to 664,037 and 877,340 kg. Keywords: Population growth function, Schaefer’s Biology Model, Utilization status , Yellowfin tuna ABSTRAK Dua jenis fungsi pertumbuhan populasi menjadi dasar pembentukan model biologi Schaefer, namun dalam kajian ini terdapat perbedaan dalam bentuk dan nilai r sebagai parameter biologi ditambah juga berdasarkan perbedaan metode perhitungan koefisien a dan b . Metode perhitungan koefisien a dan b model biologi Schaefer melalui regresi linear masih kurang tepat, karena model biologi Schaefer berbentuk kuadratik, sehingga penyelesaiannya harus melalui proses kuadratik. Nilai f msy dan Y msy dari proses regresi linear memiliki nilai 1,40 dan 1,34 kali lebih rendah dari proses kuadratik. Berdasarkan kedua kurva dari kedua metode perhitungan koefisien a dan b , maka status pemanfaatan perikanan tuna madidihang diduga masih belum optimal. Sehingga berdasarkan proses regresi linear dan kuadratik, maka produksi maksimal tuna madidihang masih dapat ditingkatkan sampai dengan 664.037 dan 877.340 kg.
