Companies must manage their valuable knowledge and experience more aggressively to enhance competitive advantage and human resource management (HRM). In this paper, we present a web-based training system named ETES - employee training expert system and the methodologies of its implementation. ETES applied rule-based expert system technology to infer the learning type for employees. Moreover, ETES uses association rule mining to find training strategies and learning map for personal learning. Besides, ETES provides different training materials for employees according to their learning aptitudes, records and occupations. As a result, accessing such information and filtering out these documents can cause frustration and often result in waste of time and effort for the users while surfing the web. This is mainly because of the underlying techniques used in these engines. These techniques are mostly based in the frequency of the keywords of the query in the HTML code. In addition, issues such as dealing with classifying the pages found for a query according to previous visits along with features needed to make intelligent decisions regarding the access patterns of the users are not considered. This work presents an intelligent search engine, called ORCA that returns the most relevant documents for user's queries. This search engine analyses the queries and builds themes (models) to be used when the engine is confronted with similar queries. The intelligent component is used for constructing a model of the user behavior and using that model to fetch and even prefetch information and documents considered of interest to the user. It uses both latent semantic analysis and web page feature selection for clustering web pages. Compared to the traditional ones, SaS has the following distinctive features: application delivery over Internet, usage based pricing mechanism, etc. Potentially, this approach can significantly reduce the total cost of ownership of application software. However, it does have a number of unique issues that include service customization, multi-tenancy, complex billing model, etc. If not handled properly, these issues can result in ad-hoc and manual service consumption practices, which could eliminate the benefits of the SaS approach. In this paper, we are going to specifically deal with the service customization issue. To that end, we proposed a novel SaS customization policy and a supporting framework that is realized through a design-time tooling and a runtime environment. By decomposing capabilities into modular services, organizations can share their offerings at multiple levels of granularity while also creating unique access points for their peer organizations. The true impact of SOA will be realized when 3rd party organizations can obtain a variety of services, on-demand, and create higher-order composite business processes. The Web Services Challenge (WSC) is a forum where academic and industry researchers can share experiences of developing tools that automate the integration of Web services. In the third year (i.e. WSC-07) of the Web services challenge, software platforms will address several new composition challenges. Requests and results will be transmitted within SOAP messages. In addition, semantic representations will be both represented in the eXtensible Markup Language (XML) and in the Web Ontology Language (OWL). The concept of visual mining of information is based on the principle of creating a fused information space that could be navigated using visual perception, just as we do within a natural environment. It is argued that as the information available through human-created artifacts increase, conventional methods of information acquisition will fail to circumvent the bottleneck created by the associated information overflow. Four types of human-created artifacts are identified: cognitive externalisations, artistic expressions, communicative accounts and factual records. It is the communicative artifacts that are responsible for the information overflow. As a possible way forward, it is suggested that an information space could be constructed in two layers, a perceptual layer and a cognitive layer. The information in the perceptual layer could be encoded in iconic cues to create an information landscape that could be navigated visually. Hence, allowing the sophisticated engine of visual perception to take charge of information navigation.
