Two kinds of roving glass woven fabrics of different FAW (Fabric Area Weight) and crimp ratio, Type A of 570 g/m2 and Type B of 800 g/m2, were adopted as reinforcement in this study. Tensile test was conducted and tensile properties were discussed on specimens of 6 degrees 0°/5°/10°/80°/85°/90°. The initial fracture behavior was observed on 0 degree and 90 degree and the fracture mechanism was compared and discussed among 5°/10°/80°/85°. The results showed that Type B has higher tensile modulus and tensile strength than that of Type A. And different initial fracture behaviors between two kinds of materials was observed and analyzed, which indicated that the crimp ratio plays an important role of woven fabric reinforced composites in fracture mechanism.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"08 1","pages":"54-67"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44532280","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The X-ray diffractometer (XRD) and the scanning electron microscopy (SEM) technology were used to characterize the Ce/BiVO4 nanocomposites. We investigated the photocatalytic activity of the as-prepared photocatalyst, and methyl orange was used as organic pollutant. The results show that the Ce/BiVO4 nanocomposite was a good photocatalyst under visible light. In 100 ml of 5 mg/L methylene orange solution, when the catalyst calcined at 673 K was 0.1 g, hydrogen peroxide was 0.5 ml, pH was 2.0, and the degradation ratio of catalyst for methylene orange reached 90.26% within 70 min.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"08 1","pages":"68-74"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-04-12","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46700012","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different cement contents, formation pressure and types of fibres were considered. The initial strength increase with CO2 injection is so much faster than this caused by conventional hydration that the produced samples do not need additional curing before they can be stored. Similar strength and stiffness values as in conventional products on the market are gained with lower cement content for similar types of fibres. Visual inspection of board surfaces aged for 13 years in a harsh exterior environment as well as comparison of strength and stiffness values for these boards when new and after ageing, gives a very satisfying result. The combined effect of the above discussed gains results in markedly increased productivity at lower cost and lower environmental impacts than is possible in traditional CBPB production.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"08 1","pages":"28-42"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42010512","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The mechanical properties of the laminates were evaluated through the mechanical strength tests and scanning electron microscope (SEM) observation. The results revealed that ultrasonic waves improved transverse tensile, flexural, interlaminar shear, and compressive strengths of the carbon fiber (CF) laminates and interlaminar shear and compressive strengths of the glass fiber (GF) laminates. It was found from SEM observation that the fracture modes of the CF and GF laminates processed using ultrasonic waves were resin fracture. Accordingly, the adhesion of the fiber/resin interface was improved by oscillating ultrasonic vibration during resin impregnation, leading to an increase of the interface strength.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"08 1","pages":"1-10"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70623949","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation on tensile property was carried out on specimens in 7 orientations including 0°/5°/15°/75°/85°/90° in previous works. With the specimen parameters and experimental data, FEM model was built by the software of Marc. By combining the experimental results and finite element analysis, the modulus was simulated and calculated at the first stage. Then interfacial stress of the 0 degree and 90 degree was also calculated. By the initial fracture stress data from experiment as well as the simulation value of interfacial strength of 0 and 90 degree, the initial fracture stress of the off-axial specimens wascalculated and predicted. The result shows that the interfacial strength of the glass fiber bundle is higher than that of the carbon fiber bundle in transverse direction. By using the interfacial strength and according to the Von Mises yielding criterion, the initial fracture stress was predicted, which can be a contribution to the design or predict of the material properties.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"08 1","pages":"11-27"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"70623960","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The resulting chilled MMCs are solidified under the influence of copper chill of 25 mm thickness to study the effect of chilling on thermal behaviour. Microstructural studies indicated that the reinforcement distribution is uniform with very good bonding due to chilling effect. Thermal properties were found to decrease significantly with increase in SiO2 content in chilled MMCs. It is concluded from the research that reinforcement content and the temperature has an effect on coefficient of thermal expansion and thermal conductivity of the chilled composite developed. Finite element analysis of the exhaust valve of the IC indicates that chilled Ni alloy composite developed in the present research can be used as alternate material for the existing valve material (Ni-Cr alloy steel). All the tests conducted in this research are in conformance with ASTM standards.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"07 1","pages":"251-264"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46330757","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The modulus of rupture (MOR) and modulus of elasticity (MOE) were evaluated as indicators of mechanical performance. The water absorption rate and thickness swelling rate were also analyzed to investigate the physical performance of the board. An increase of over 80% in MOE values was obtained for the boards with 10 wt% glass fiber inclusion. For the MOR values, there was an increase of over 84.4% in both densities and glass fiber inclusions of all the board densities. However, there was a decrease in MOE when 30 wt% glass fibers were incorporated into boards with density of 500 kg/m3 and 700 kg/m3. A r-squared value of 0.869 supported the obtained result that the correlation between water absorption rate and thickness swelling rate was a function of the density of the composites.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"07 1","pages":"265-276"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47504305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This method is ideal for attaching automotive parts without having to use bolts or adhesives. Glass fiber-reinforced polypropylene (GF/PP) with various adhesive lengths of 0 and 5 mm was prepared as the inserted part and injected to the mold. The effects of the inserted parts, adhesive lengths, and injection conditions on the adhesive properties were investigated. The strength of the interfacial adhesive between the insert and the injected polymer was measured by using an Intron Universal Testing machine. The effects of the material in the inserted and injected parts were analyzed. It was found that by increasing the binding area of the adhesive interface, the barrel temperature, and the mold temperature, the interfacial adhesive strength of the insert injection molded-part was improved in all tested specimens.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"07 1","pages":"197-206"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41352726","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The shear strengths of carbon fiber and epoxy resin were measured using the microdroplet test, whereas interaction and binding energies were estimated using Ab initio and molecular dynamics methods. However, binding energies did not impact the shear strength volumes determined by microdroplet tests, i.e., bonds between functional groups of the carbon filer and the epoxy resin were difficult to break. On the other hand, the interaction energies calculated for epoxy monomers were in good agreement with experimental data. Moreover, we determined the relationship between the simulated interaction energy and the shear fracture strength volume obtained using the microdroplet test.","PeriodicalId":57868,"journal":{"name":"复合材料期刊(英文)","volume":"07 1","pages":"179-184"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-07-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42079686","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
